Tintin is in his late thirties-early forties, Haddock is a young lad (probably 17 since that's Tintin's age apparently). Keep in mind that at a young age, Haddock won't be a captain...he'd probably be a cabin boy or something.

An owl hoots as it sweeps past the house and Tintin opens his eyes, shifting little, starting to reach out; he’s not in his own bed.

Warmth next to him, sprawled alongside his body, warm skin and the scent of the man, the only familiar thing in the whole situation.

Captain Archibald 'Sharpsteel' Haddock is fast becoming one of the most feared pirates on the high seas, and he doesn't take kindly to stowaways. Perhaps Tintin should have snuck aboard a different ship? (Response to the 'Haddock is a pirate' prompt on the kink meme.

They are in a foreign land to uncover some mystery where gentleman comes to their aid. He is eloquent, dashing, young, rich, refined, intelligent, dignified, cultivated, a bit arrogant and very interested in Tintin. He flirts with him openly without knowing that he is already in a relationship with Haddock who thinks, brokenly, that Tintin will leave him for someone better.

Not impressed, Tintin isn’t impressed and decides to lay all his cards on the table.

The Captain was pressed closed against him, sweat slicked skin sliding easily as they move in tandem to the rocking of the boat, the gentle slap of skin against skin and the splashes of the waves against the sides of the boat.

“Come on, Captain,” Tintin says with a fierce grin, bouncing on the balls of his feet; there is sweat dripping down into his eyes, and he swipes it away with one hand before it can sting. “Or have you had enough for the morning?”

How did Tintin come to be living at Marlinspike Hall, anyway?

Takes place somewhere between ‘Red Rackham’s Treasure’ and ‘Destination Moon’.

Tintin does move, breaking the captain's concentration, though it is not quite in the direction envisaged. He crawls determinedly onto the bed, moving with the exaggerated care that intoxication gives a man, then he emerges from the blankets alongside Haddock, his weight dipping the mattress. “Captain,” he breathes, with the air of one making a momentous discovery.

Haddock sighs a second time. “Yes, it's me. This being my bed, in my bedroom.”

A lot of people have wondered why Tintin is so eager for Captain Haddock to join him on his adventures. One reason, aside from the the fact that an adventure without the captain just isn't a proper adventure, is that Tintin, despite being fluent in many languages, is absolutely awful at English.

“Snow,” he murmurs, almost to himself. “I saw the snow, it was all nothing but snow, everywhere. He was trapped in it. He was calling for me.”

Mrs. Hudson has a few words on the subject of troublesome tenants. Mrs. Finch is determined not to fall into the same trap.

So my headcanon for Tintin is he's asexual, aromantic, and happy that way; but what if, for whatever reason, he finds himself in a situation where he has to flirt with someone in order to get information/provide a distraction/etc? And he fails miserably, because he just has no idea how that works and is incapable of even pretending otherwise.

Any sailor can tell you that there’s an art to making a proper knot. One bad tug or lazy execution can make for a very bad day on the open seas. As such, Captain Haddock had made an excellent effort in learning all the ways he could twist and coil a rope into usefulness. Of course, there are other uses for knots than just holding a boat together or keeping yourself from being taken by sirens.

If there was one thing Tintin did not expect to come out of the evening, it was this.
