Taken out of context, John and Sherlock's relationship and habits look pretty odd don't they?

The most notorious woman in Gaaldine is on a mission. A chance encounter five years earlier left Gertie owing a debt of gratitude which is unexpectedly called in following the Reaching Beck Bridge disaster. With an unidentified traitor sitting in the heart of the Court, the fate of two kingdoms rests in her hands.

The Choices of the King deals with the immediate aftermath of the final scene of The Abbess of Norburyness. With the Crown Prince missing, his numerous enemies at Court strive to blacken his name with accusations of everything from cold-blooded murder to treason. The King is forced to take drastic action to prevent all-out revolt in Council, though it feels like cutting off his own right hand.

David Hebron grows up on a secluded country estate as a ward of the Abbey of Norburyness, kept in ignorance of his true origins, his very name selected from the Bible by random chance. As he passes from boyhood to adulthood a sequence of apparently chance events begin to show him who he is and what he has the potential to become. Others, though, also have plans. For them, David Hebron represents an new battlefield in the unending struggles between Gondal and Gaaldine, aristocracy and monarchy, religious tolerance and repression. On a bridge above a rushing beck in the mountainous North-East corner of Gaaldine David Hebron is about to come face to face with a member of his true family for the first time. The consequences will shake kingdoms to their foundations.

“Squirt-bottle,” says Harry’s voice firmly in the earpiece of the mobile. “It’s the only way.”

John can’t have heard her right. “Beg pardon?”

“Squirt-bottle,” she repeats. “Worked perfectly with Georgie.”

John presses his back to the wall outside 221 Baker Street and stuffs his free hand into his coat pocket to slow the process of his fingers turning to ice. “Georgie was a cat.”

There's a case at a secondary school/University, some series of threats or string of bizarre murders that has the entire campus shaken. In the course of the investigation, Sherlock and John meet two students. One is well liked if not popular, athletic, intelligent without showing off, involved only because they were close to a victim or witnessed something important. The other is a loner with no regard for social norms, an insufferable genius, always in the chem lab, and involved because everyone, including teachers/professors, think they're behind everything.

Sherlock and John are responsible for these two meeting. And, because they both want to help with the investigation, they get to watch them become friends and fall a little in love. And that makes them feel things about themselves that they've been working very hard to not feel, thank you.

"I think I met someone," John says at his next therapist's appointment. "A friend." "Really?" Ella asks. She sounds pleased, and also surprised. "What's his name?" John nods. "Really. His name's Sherlock. He -- he plays the same game as me, the online one. We party together."

Merlin Holmes, the youngest Holmes brother, reaches out to Sherlock for help finding a friend that has gone missing.

Every year, the youngest Holmes, Merlin, invites his two older brothers to his holiday party. Every year, neither Sherlock nor Mycroft show up. This year, John finds Sherlock’s invite and needles Sherlock into going to see his (until then unknown) baby brother.

"Sherlock," Lestrade said carefully, "exactly how did you meet, uh, John?"

"Over the internet."

The poignant silence from before was back, along with its friends Awkward and Holy Fuck.

"Oh god," Donovan moaned. "Why couldn't you have found yourself a nice serial killer?"

Written for the prompt: So there's a standoff. Police and John on one side, bad guy with gun pointed at Sherlock on the other side.

Sherlock purposely does something to kidnapper and gets himself shot. He's dead on the ground, and the police are now free to take down that SOB.

...John, calm as you like walks up, and kicks Sherlock's legs. "It's over you can stop acting now."

Anderson says, "but he's dead."

It's almost blank because she doesn't know how to continue. She's not sure that she has the words to describe Shoshana.

Sherlock has the unnatural predisposition of being absolutely everyone's worst date. Which doesn't mean he wants to talk about it.

Written for Bloom84's Laud Lestrade prompt: Choosing a P.E. teacher over Greg Lestrade? That's just utterly implausible. There must be some really complicated backstory to explain that fantasy plotline.

John stops where he is and Sherlock, Mycroft, and Mycroft's group of Mysterious Men In Suits all stop as well. “When you said that Mycroft could get me a place in the safest house in the country, this was not what I was expecting.”

“Probably not,” says Sherlock. “But if I'd told you that, you'd never have agreed to stay in it.”

“Mycroft could have taken care of that lot without even leaving his car.” He feels Sherlock following close behind, so he turns and leans back on the counter. “But you still did it.”

There are so many things about Sherlock that he didn't know. So many things that he might never have known, if they hadn't started meeting like this.

This is a quasi-historical AU of the BBC Sherlock series set (more or less) in three fantasy kingdoms devised by the Bronte children.

The time period is roughly the late seventeenth century and readers should bear in mind that this saga contains the doings of a set of supremely dysfunctional more-or-less European Royal families steeped in the "divine right of kings" ideology of monarchy, filtered through an early nineteenth century Romantic/Gothick sensibility and then depicted using the freedom of expression afforded by the early twenty-first century internet.

Furthermore, if the Greek myths contemplated it, some member of the Royal houses of Gondal, Angria or Gaaldine has probably put it into practice somewhere. (91,931 words)

So it cracks me up that the entire plot is pretty much Mike Stamford’s fault, and yet he manages to completely dodge the fallout. SIR, I SALUTE YOU.

When Arthur wakes up, there is a gun pressed to his forehead. John Watson is holding it there. His wrists are tied in front of him. They are in the van they'd pulled Sherlock Holmes into after drugging him, and there is a crick in his neck. He casts his eyes to the side. Everyone but Eames is still connected to the PASIV. Eames is collapsed on the ground, apparently unconscious. There is a neat strip of cloth wound around his upper thigh, soaked through with blood.

Arthur is maybe sixty percent certain this level is reality. His totem is in his pocket. Unfortunately isn't sure how to convince the man in front of him (who's tortured him to death twice now, and Arthur's really hoping that's a product of the mark's subconscious and not actually grounded in fact, but the background research isn't favorable) to let him roll a die a few times to make sure.

"Dreamshare, huh?" John Watson asks amicably, nodding at the PASIV still connected to his wrist. "I thought we shut that down."

"Not quite," Arthur says tightly.

"Apparently not," John agrees. "Who sent you?"

What if John solved Study in Pink? Answer: Badassery.

Mycroft gives Sherlock the apparently simple task of solving a puzzle box containing a stolen microchip. It isn't simple.

There's nothing wrong that wasn't wrong before.

While John and Sherlock have been spying and building alliances up on the Northern border of Gaaldine, various tensions are coming to a head in Brendelhame, the provincial capital. The last day of the Crown Princess Charis's solo visit to the city coincides with a local festival to celebrate the defeat of a Gondalian force there two centuries earlier. At which point a rigidly moralistic Bishop, who sees all tactics as legitimate in the war against Sin, decides to preach a sermon on the evils of the sexes straying from their God-appointed spheres. With a drink-fuelled mob on the rampage and numerous competing factions ready to take advantage of any opening all hell is about to break loose.

Sherlock knew that he could thoroughly rely upon John Watson's moral sense. And that's why he knew that Lestrade was wrong, wrong, wrong.

"Look," Sherlock began again, "you keep saving my life. And touching me," and hm, that wasn’t as conclusive as it had seemed in his head.

Sally's convinced Sherlock is the perpetrator of a series of nasty crimes, including a murder. But that changes when she finds him drugged by the real perpetrators while on the case. Cue Donovan having to get out of a Very Bad Place while dealing with a creepily vulnerable drugged and injured Sherlock.

I can so easily imagine Sally trying to get everyone to boycott Sherlock's art because of all the wank, but no one does because it's so good. And Mycroft as the mod of a popular community, constantly trying to control Sherlock's antics

Jim is the creeper who digs through the actors' bins and stalks them.

In which John isn't quite living in a war zone, Sherlock experiments, and Bill Murray (not the actor) wants to get laid. Features also: pins, sponges, the question of whether or not Sherlock Holmes likes to cuddle, nightmares, a case, and seventeen steps.

In which an artistic murder draws Irene Adler and her brother Nathan into the lives of Lestrade and Holmes, and Dr John Watson balances his morals against the happiness that is a warm gun.

Mary Watson loves her husband. So does Sherlock Holmes. John loves them both. The solution seems obvious.

He signs his correspondences to the police as Sherlock H, as he always has, and he signs his letters to his parents as SH -- they can take what they will from the S. He signs his school assignments S. Holmes, and manages to get away with it because he is the only Holmes in his classes. FtM!Sherlock.

A strangely romantic gesture, coming from Sherlock: a marriage of science and symbolism.

The dying King of Gondal lays a solemn trust on John Watson, court physician; at all costs to keep the fourteen year-old Crown Princess Charis out of the clutches of the corrupt Heir of Gondal. Which means arranging her marriage to Sherlock, heir to the neighbouring throne of Gaaldine, Gondal's traditional enemy. John escorts the Crown Princess to her wedding, acutely aware of the pressure of history and unspoken - unspeakable - secrets which he had thought buried forever.
