The woods around Camelot, despite King Uther's best efforts, are filled with magical creatures of all kinds, some kinder than others. Takes place pre-series.

So anyway! I offer this up for your enjoyment! It's untitled, about 4,500 words, has no warnings and is rated PG-13 for swearing. The pairings are Kari/Tory/Gwen (planned), Morgana/Grant (nascent) and Merlin/Arthur (implied). Mostly it's a medieval mythbusters AU with bonus Gaius and Geoffrey of Monmouth being giant nerds. There are exploding privy jokes. It is incomplete, containing only a beginning, end, and a single scene from the middle, and I hereby disown all further responsibility for it.

Tony doesn’t find most people that interesting. Spider-Man is definitely interesting. It’s not even the secret identity thing – SHIELD is full of people who may or may not be using their legal name during interactions with Tony. Spider-Man’s not even the only person Tony’s ever worked with without seeing their face (he really hopes Fury knows who was on the other end of those Helicarrier conference calls).

The secret identity doesn’t hurt the intrigue, but its main effect is just to make Tony so curious that he pisses the kid off. ‘Kid’ is still a hazy concept, but he’s definitely got the age narrowed down to ‘younger than me, old enough to drink’ which is fair enough.

In which Merlin is promoted from production intern to talent, is easily mortified, and has Post-It arguments with Arthur while the art department watches in glee. Also, there are gay dragons.

Just when Gwaine finds a reason to end his roaming, he must leave Camelot again, this time on royal orders. Whether and how he returns may depend on the secrets Merlin—and others—are keeping from him.

The dragon thinks they’re both idiots.

It's dark inside the tent, and over the hiss of the water against canvas he can hear their horses stamp and snort outside. He imagines the spray of water from their snouts and smiles to himself, stretching out long and thin on his bedroll. He feels...tall and light and strangely comfortable in his own skin. The air smells like water and like wind and...something else, something incredible and familiar and right. His mind is far too awake for the dreams he's just left, and he just wants to smile. He takes a deep breath, and recognizes the smell. Magic.

Modern-day AU - Merlin certainly doesn't mean to lose his virginity to his best friend's older sister. It just kind of... happens.
