This began when someone said, "I wish there were more heist fics in the Inception fandom." It started as a jewelry heist and turned, instead, into The One Where the Team Incepts King Arthur.

Arthur wakes up and realizes the last ten years of his life have been a dream. He is nineteen, and he can barely remember where he is. What he can remember is the ghost of Eames’ hands pressed down on his chest trying frantically to stop the blood flooding up around his fingers as Arthur died (as he woke up).

“Yusuf,” she says, dangerously, “did you give my point man a love potion?”

Eames would gladly welcome comparisons to other dashing bearded men, but Eames rarely gets what he wants when it comes to Arthur.

Arthur is maybe sixty percent certain this level is reality. His totem is in his pocket. Unfortunately isn't sure how to convince the man in front of him (who's tortured him to death twice now, and Arthur's really hoping that's a product of the mark's subconscious and not actually grounded in fact, but the background research isn't favorable) to let him roll a die a few times to make sure.

"Dreamshare, huh?" John Watson asks amicably, nodding at the PASIV still connected to his wrist. "I thought we shut that down."

"Not quite," Arthur says tightly.

"Apparently not," John agrees. "Who sent you?"
