op : coop
"How do you come together and share a resource? Submit a creative project to answer this question and your group, organization or co-op could win $5,000." from Seattle Metropolitan CU. I love it. damn clever idea, and a nice bright design. Irony alert: I can't watch the video because it's blocked by the nannyware.

Self-Empowering Communities « Water on Rock
"By creating personas around specific roles for volunteers you can begin to think about what motivates her, what she’s interested in doing for the project, what she expects from her involvement, etc. Once you start answering these questions, you can create a handbook for your community leaders so that they can easily identify contributors in those roles and quickly know exactly what to do to engage them."

See how our gardens grow | The News Tribune - The Olympian | Seattle-Tacoma News, Weather, Sports, Jobs, Homes and Cars | South Puget Sound's Destination
sustainable south sound kicking it into overdrive, apparently. (the lacey location is over by the office.) it's not a particularly popular opinion, I think, but I keep wondering if the eastside garden should be somewhere other than the park.

Work and Play in the Information Age: Technology Utilization in Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) | Research: Employability
"In the late 1990s, Boys & Girls Clubs began operating computer labs and integrating technology-related access and learning opportunities into their activities. This report examines these opportunities within the larger contexts of the role of afterschool programs in the US, and of preparing youth for the 21st century workforce. The findings illustrate many ways that specific programs introduce and enhance technical skills, promote Internet savvy and build computer fluency while simultaneously reinforcing core social development outcomes." C was heavily involved in this then at the East Tacoma club...at the time, we lived right around the corner, and I worked 1 floor up from the admin HQ.
