In which Jim almost (really seriously almost) gets killed and his crew treats him with hilariously precious kid gloves for a while, but of course Jim is capable of dishing out the mothering just as easily and to equally adorable effect. ADORRRRRAABBBBLLEEE. Also, hilarious. Especially Uhura's very loquacious and extremely detailed threat.

In which Kirk gets asked about Samuel Winchester when Starfleet is looking to re-recruit dropouts after the cadet decimations from the fight with Nero. Awesome things come in short packages.

In which Gaila and Kirk meet when he takes care of her after she gets a little too smashed at a party. Because Kirk is a good man, underneath that fratboy exterior.

In which we see six people that Jim Kirk respects the hell out of. I'm actually kind of impressed this stayed Spock/Uhura (unless I missed something?).

In which time travellers frequently get all up in Jim Kirk's business. This was extremely amusing even without much experience with TOS canon.

In which we see Jim Kirk's years at the academy, and how much they mean to him. James T Kirk, ILU so hard right now...

In which Jim acquired a Vulcan mentor after his rescue from Tarsus IV. A tale of hope and translation studies. Thiiiiiis. My heart is full up on family that doesn't end with blood. Also on laughter because the big "Jim knows Vulcan?!?" reveal was worth every minute of the sleep I sacrificed to get to it. If I could, I would draw big animated hearts all around this fic that burst into sparkly fireworks in a continuous, giddy loop.

In which Kirk says something while inebriated (KER-PLUNK! LOLOL) that makes the rest of the crew think that he's suicidal. While the fic is not much more than an elaboration of the prompt, the author makes a decent go of it, and the prompt itself is pure comedy gold.

In which Kirk is stuck babysitting Spock and Uhura's kid for a night. CUTE AND HILARIOUS. OH KIRK, YOU ARE A HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE INFLUENCE AND AN AWESOME, AWESOME GODFATHER.

In which Kirk's first year performance is reviewed. About as hilarious as that sounds.

In which they deal with the aftermath. HAHAHA, SPOCK IN THIS, I AM DYING. "I flew a ship. You attacked Romulans' fists with your face." Also, "It was also brought to my attention that after marooning you on an ice planet and attempting to strangle you to death, failing to speak out for your defense would make me, in the popular vernacular, a douche."
