In which Kurt is cursed to obey any command and Karofsky (attending Dalton in this story) has been taking advantage of it. Dark, triggery (abusive relationship, rape survival), difficult, but full of strength and, eventually, hope. It makes me uncomfortable that I keep reading stories like this, but honestly, Kurt's strength is awe-inspiring and the extremity of stories like this illuminate its true depths in sharply brilliant detail.

In which the members of PFLAG grow up and out in new and better ways, knotting together even more over the years. The third part of the Breakeven series (Hope That Starts The Broken Hearts, Pieces of You). I really liked this part. Less melodrama, more talking about feelings, same amount of Santana snark. Great fic.

In which the Karofsky chapter of Kurt's life finally draws to a firm close. I really liked where this fic took this dangling plot. It landed everything gracefully, and everyone came out the better for it.

In which Karofsky is forced to attend post-Prom brunch with the rest of the Glee kids, and we get a depressing glance into his psyche. This is pretty much canon to me.

In which Kurt makes excuses for Karofsky because he sees himself in the other boy, but there's a a point where there is absolutely no fucking excuse. Got jossed/goes AU after ~Furt, and in a dark way. At first, I was unsettled by where this fic took Karofsky's character, but then I realized that this is so easily what could have happened if Glee was a worse show with a more cynical view on life. Thank God Santana's machinations and Kurt's compassion DID get to Karofsky. Otherwise, I think this fic could have easily come to pass. :( That being said, I did get a vicious thrill when Kurt stomped on Karofsky, I'm not even going to lie. As a character study from a more uncertain time in these characters' development, this fic is really worth something.
