In which two semi-illicit relationships are taking place in Arthur and Lancelot's flat, and it's up to Gwen to get all the sneaking about into the open. I could have SWORN I saved this fic, but apparently I did not. Anyway, I read it two weeks ago, so the details have gone a little hazy, but I remember this as being a perfectly delightful in-and-out-of-doors comedy, so at least it sticks well in the memory.

In which Arthur is kidnapped and led to lead a different life, but of course, Merlin is there to find Arthur and patch his strained consciousness back together again. This was so addled, in the very best way. I just loved what Morgana did and what it means, and how different things will be, the gaping promise of the unknown that spreads out at the end like a horizon.

In which we see scenes of Arthur's life that take place by the lake. Lovely and sad and wonderful.

In which Arthur is the darling of the ton, Merlin is still a terrible valet, Mordred is a radical rabble-rouser, and Gwen's in love with a Light Dragoon. The only Regency AU I will ever need. I might have cried at the end, just from happiness. Regarding period and characterization, it was note perfect. The total Arthur-ness of Arthur at the end is what set me off crying. But beyond that, the pitch, the overall tone, made this such an amazing story of hope and love and destiny, that it just filled me up until all it took was that final touch and I couldn't help it. Amazing.

In which the expected marriage happens, but no one could expect the amount of duress under which it takes place. Hilarious!

In which the cast of Merlin kind of manhandles its way into a Goblet of Fire-era Harry Potter AU. I don't know how to recommend this fic other than to say that it reaches epic levels of insanity, and that it is awesome and hilarious to perhaps an infinite degree. Also, the fact that the characterizations manage to be genuinely penetrating despite the unholy amounts of crack going around is a miraculous event I'm not sure can be explained by God or man. Also the second, Pru's hand in this monstrosity is obvious.

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. I CANNOT SAY IT ENOUGH. "A salute to Arthur Pendragon and his inability to lock it down." OH MANNNNN. THE GIFS! YESSSSSSSSSS.

In which the rescue in Lancelot and Guinevere doesn't work out as well as it did in the show, and there's an Ar/Mer fixit that I really, -really- like. Jesus. I don't know whether to say "ow" or "aw." Oaw? Aow? Flangst!
