In which Steve and Darcy become friends and Tony and Clint become jealous. Moohaha, great. Anything with Darcy in it makes me happy, pretty much.

In which Kurt considers who to write in for the Teacher of the Year award. This fic gives some really brutal insights to Kurt and Blaine, but I thought the tone that the author struck in their considerations, particularly in Kurt's internal POV, really fit with them as characters. It's a fic that packs a meta punch, but the blows are pulled just enough to allow for understanding and a fair measure of forgiveness.

In which everybody needs to make sure that Chandler knows Kurt and Blaine are IN LOVE, okay, and he CAN'T get in the way of that. Hahahahaha, this was adorable. And all the voices were so well done!

In which Mike is a good friend, and toothbrushes figure prominently. Excuse me while I go weep into my hands at how precious and perfect this is. MIKE CHANG.

In which the Warblers are invited to perform on a holiday cruise ship, and something about the salt air and the Caribbean sun helps bring people together and feelings to light. What a fun 2011 winter hiatus era fic! There were some problems here and there that made this beast of a fic a bit difficult to contend with at times, but each chapter presented its own gems of emotional connection and delightful hijinx, so its 100,000+ words never felt like a burden. I'm always wary of travel fic, because sometimes people don't know how to make the locations serve the story, but I thought this fic really expertly struck a balance between experience porn and genuine plot elements. Overall, a really solid long fic that I enjoyed very much.

In which Blaine and Kurt get it into their heads that it would be better for them to take a break once Kurt leaves for New York, but there are pitfalls and heartbreaks to any break up, even an amicable one. A fic about growing apart badly, and growing back together inexorably. Just the way things should be with these two. Lots of great things about this fic: earned and really heart-breaking angst (LOTS of this, omg), a really great cast of characters both canon and OC (and speaking of, a great speculation on Glee club next year), actually believable depictions of college applications (and college relationships, and New York City), and some really over-the-top romantic moments and declarations (in addition to countless smaller moments that ultimately mean just as much). All in all this was a beautiful fic, but I'm glad I only came on board after chapter three. This is not the sort of fic you want to sit around waiting for, unless you LIKE staring at your computer monitor yelling "NO, FIX IT."

In which the rule change is announced before Rue dies, and that changes everything. This left me with goosebumps everywhere on my body. Powerful and haunting and poignant.

In which Kurt starts up a casual support group for all the lgbt kids, and over the course of some Saturdays, impressions and bridges and hearts start to mend. There were some real gems here (lord, Sebastian TOTALLY could have left that comment), and I LOVED all the songs in the musical week. Perfect selections.

In which Artie keeps the Glee kids afloat through a lot of different methods (blatant trickery, ASL, sexual experimentation), but mostly through music and dance and /winning/. An off-the-wall (or maybe off-the-chain) S4 fic that's only crack in that Glee wishes it could handle this level of narrative mahem. Somewhere between the riotously funny revolving door of choir directors and the frank portrayal of kids who are disenfranchised by the world and determined to do something about it, I got whiplash from the gusts of awesome coming at me from every angle. And just as a note, Klaine is 100% preserved in this fic, despite the pairings listed. Just trust me, this fic's amazing and you want to read it.

In which Blaine is a famous TV actor who accidentally tweets his phone number, and Kurt is a regular high schooler whose friends think it would be hilarious to put him on the line with his celebrity crush. Very cute story with lots of meta in-jokes. I sometimes thought the in-jokes were a bit too on the nose, but overall I really enjoyed myself with this fic.

In which Kurt adjusts to life at Dalton, and it's stranger and better than he could have ever conceived of. Wooooow, how did I somehow fail to save this fic? This is waaaay back in s2 canon, jossed thoroughly in just about every way, and yet I want nothing more than to pry all of my canon knowledge out of my head and replace it with this version of events, where Kurt is safe, and happy, and valued, and there are boys everywhere being lovely.

Full-body goosebumps. I seriously can't get over it. Fuck you, Pavlovian reaction to the Inception soundtrack. No, but really, excellent use of Chris Nolan's oeuvre.

In which Kurt is an up-and-coming wedding planner who hires a complete unknown to be his career-making wedding band, a decision based entirely on the charisma of their bowtie-loving frontman. This was simply pitch-perfect, hilarious and giddy and tender in all the right and most endearing of ways. One extended thrill ride of not-at-all-guilty pleasure.

In which John and Lestrade and eventually a small crowd start meeting in memory of Sherlock. This was really, really lovely. Bittersweeet, but quietly--like a consolation, or an apology, or a promise--just a bit more sweet than bitter.

In which there is an underground movement.

Well, that was intensely well done.

In which Blaine tries to find a niche to fill with Kurt and keeps getting niche-blocked by all of Kurt's friends. This was wholly, utterly hilarious, and perfectly, ridiculously fun, and still lovingly, brilliantly in character. Also, adorable to extremes I can't express. Just a joy, from start to finish, in every way, from the thrill of recognition I felt at Blaine's terrible logic and motives to the snorts of laughter I could not hold back watching him fail miserably (but so earnestly!) at every turn.

In which the team plays I Never.

In which Logan joins the X-Men when Erik and Charles come to call and basically rewrites the entire course of the movie with the force of his awesomeness. BOSSEST BOSS TO EVER BOSS, WOW.

So many rounds of goosebumps while watching this. So goddamn many.

In which they're in a Repo AU. Dark and bitingly sensuous, like very highly concentrated chocolate. The prose in particular is engaging in a terrifying way.

In which Mr Schue makes them camp, and it's a disaster for just about everybody, until it isn't anymore, for a choice few. HAHAHAHAHA.

In which they're all American Idol contestants, and the journey to self-acceptance can sometimes be hard and and sometimes be nationally televised. This was... amazing, is probably a good word? Scandal, emotional breakthroughs, friendships, romance, sweet scenes, sexy scenes, and a shit ton of giddily perfect musical numbers (OH GOD, GOLDEN SLUMBERS/CARRY THAT WEIGHT) make this fic the best kind of roller coaster you could possibly ask for. Blaine's journey in this fic was riveting and heart-warming and really, embarrassingly cathartic for me, and if you want to grin your mouth off you should just open this fic and begin reading immediately. P.S. The addition of Jesse St. James to any fic automatically increases it's awesome by a factor of about a hundred, but this fic really capitalizes on him in an unabashedly hilarious way. He WOULD be on Idol. Perfection.

In which they're all storm chasers--the Hudmel brothers + Puck in a sort of Epic Rivalry with St. Berry + Blaine. This fic is insanely interesting and really, really good, and I NEED THERE TO BE MORE OF IT.

In which the members of PFLAG grow up and out in new and better ways, knotting together even more over the years. The third part of the Breakeven series (Hope That Starts The Broken Hearts, Pieces of You). I really liked this part. Less melodrama, more talking about feelings, same amount of Santana snark. Great fic.

In which Quinn is on the outside looking in, but it isn't always that way, and Kurt gives her hope. This was really, really lovely. I loved her perspective of Kurt/Blaine, but I also just loved her perspective, period. Oh, Quinn. I want more for you, too.

In which Kurt and Blaine get sick of mediating everyone else's relationship drama, so they manufacture some drama of their own. This was fun.

In which the members of PFLAG grow up, spread out, and fill in. Covers the rest of senior year after Hope That Starts The Broken Hearts. Some parts of this were really good, but the melodrama monster stuck hard in this one, wow. I really wanted to like this after how great Hope... was, but some of it was kind of ridiculously soapy, like Brittany's backstory, what the actual fuck, and the twist (?) about Mark. Honestly, the final nail in the coffin for me was when Blaine called Kurt "baby" in the last part in front of his Dad. I can't help but feel an IC Kurt would have whooped Blaine's ass for that. :///

In which Kurt finally gets PFLAG started and the club quickly gains importance in the lives of its few members. I really, really liked this. I mean, of COURSE I liked it, it's a bunch of characters I love sitting around talking about their feelings, sharing insecurities and finding strength in one another. This is my actual crack, okay. But despite my enormous bias, I think it's actually good, too. Well executed, well contained.

Flawless.

In which John is a crack shot and Anderson can bite it. YESS.

In which we see Blaine kiss everybody at the party, except the one person we all want him to. ADORABLE. All of these are adorable!

In which Lord Tubbington can talk...because she's Luna, and Brittany is Sailor Moon. HAHAHA, DEAD, SO DEAD. DON'T MIND ME, I'M JUST SAVING THINGS FROM THE GRAVE.

In which there is an extremely passable fantasy S3 taking shape. The writing here is pretty no-nonsense, but the episodes that this author imagines are engaging and really IC for the show as it is right now. And the music choices are pretty aces so far, so there's that. Great fic to speed through to take the edge off the Glee withdrawal.

In which Kurt forces Sam and Mercedes to come clean, and everything is bright and clear and open and happy. This was seriously adorable. Yaaaay, Kurt+Merdeces!

In which they're all in a roleplaying group together, and Arthur is thiiiiiick, but luckily Eames has decided to forgive him that. I loved the group dynamics in this fic so, so much.

In which we see what Kurt and Blaine's life is like after high school through bits and pieces from their day to day lives. UGH, MY CREYS. I just loved this so much, so many feelings, etc. This says a million things with so very few words. My heart and my hat's off to this author.

In which Kurt and Blaine try to make a show to rival Brittany's Fondue For Two, and things quickly go awry. Teeheehee!

In which there is a guy's night that involves Brokeback Mountain, much to Kurt's despair. HAHAHA, UNENDING LOLS.

Say what you want about the SuperWho phenomenon (I'm personally pretty apathetic), this video is fucking AWESOME. ASTRONAUT!!!!

In which Blaine transfers to McKinley and suddenly sanity reigns in the form of intense, dedicated, often salacious deadpanning. THIS IS THE GREATEST THING. THE GREATEST. SCREAMING IN LAUGHTER. ELEVEN AND TWELVE ARE MY FAVORITE, BUT THEY ARE ALL AMAZING. ALL. AMAZING.

In which Kurt keeps other people's secrets, except when they're too important to be kept. Pay attention to the warnings here, triggers all over the place, but seriously, this fic handles all of them with sensitivity and grace. That being said, Saint Kurt is a little too perfect to be believed.

In which John starts going out to the pub with guys from the Met. MET BONDING TIME, YAY.

In which John and asexual!Sherlock are interrupted on the one day a year they spend on sex to help process a crime scene relating to a serial killer. I don't really understand the underlying bits of this, and I'm a little worried about the idea of a sex marathon being some kind of compromise in an asexual relationship, but fuck it, this fic knows it doesn't make a great deal of sense, and knows that the whole premise is patently ridiculous, and then rises above that knowledge to be completely fucking adorable, so whatever, it made me smile, they love each other a great stupid amount, moving right along. 

In which John gets a visit from some friends he made in Afghanistan. I know absolutely nothing about Generation Kill other than that Brad is SUPER POPULAR in its slash tags on Delicious, but this little fic was awesome despite my lack of background knowledge.

In which Mercedes throws a glitter party and everything gets a little shiny and out of hand.

In which there is a thread with a ton His Dark Materials fics loosely written in the same universe, and they're all rather brilliant.

In which we see what the Glee ensemble got each other for Christmas. This was a surprisingly far-flung set of connected vignettes that all turned out to be wonderful and unexpected and heartbreaking and lovely in their own way. For the time it took me to read this fic, this author made me believe that Glee is a world where characterizations are coherent and these kids have histories and inner lives, which, if you've never seen Glee, is kind of miraculous. That is all down, 100%, to this very, very strong writer's skillful weaving of canon and personal canon to gloriously poignant effect.

In which Sherlock and Mycroft both learn, oh so very gradually, that they are both human. Ugh, this was gorgeous. Discomfiting and surprising and just perfectly aware of the disorders that seem to cloud the Holmes family, naming them and not shying away from them and doing them a world of justice. Also, I LOVED the detail about Anthea and am adding that to my personal canon POST HASTE. 

In which there is a Temeraire AU and it is ADORABLE. ADORE-ABLE. *chinhands*

In which the game with Moriarty didn't end when The Great Game blacked out, and now they're all in a race to get to Moriarty before he disappears completely. Actually, I read this ages ago and forgot to save it, so I'm a little fuzzy on the details, but I remember this being really, really good casefic, and I thought about it A LOT after I rewatched The Great Game today, so apparently it has quite a bit of headcanon staying power.

In which John has a love-hate relationship with his phone and the multifarious uses it is put to now that he is living with Sherlock Holmes. Ahhh, this was lovely and delightful and too short for how great it was!

In which there is a case of serial sniper attacks, and the killer seems to be leaving a message for Sherlock. Ahhhh, a really GREAT case!fic. I totally went nuts trying to anticipate the message. I figured it out, but the fic got so crazy toward the end I started to overthink it, and then I was still shocked at what it meant despite my anticipation of the words themselves. CRAZY GOOD MYSTERY/THRILLER FIC.

In which there is another HDM AU. This one plays off the same conceit as the other series, but much more closely parallels the show canon.
