In which Arthur is a boy genius who kind of falls in with Mal and her experiments, and Cobb by extension, and finally, fatefully, Eames. Portrait of a boy genius fics are a not-so-secret favorite of mine, and this fic was that, and also a really cool exploration of how one might discover the many implications of the PASIV technology, and also a jailbait!romance of epic, lovely proportions. Lots to love, and lots of words to love it in. Yessss.

In which there is a delicious, delicious Hikaru no Go AU. OH MY GODDDD, INHUMAN PERFECTION.

In which they're in a ridiculous pop-punk band a la bandom and Arthur resists Eames' charms for far longer than is really necessary. HAHAHA, EVERYTHING ABOUT COBB IN THIS FIC WAS HILARIOUS. ALL OF HIS LYRICS AND SONGS AND ACTIONS LOL. The Arthur/Eames in this fic was great, to give credit where it's due, but I was honestly here for the idiotic/pretentious band hijinx which were just priceless.

In which Arthur and Mal were best friends from the first, and Arthur and Eames are partners to the last. If the movie was Dom's love story, this is Arthur's, and it's wonderful. This fic is a deliciously thorough (70,000 words) backstory, but more than that, this fic is a fucking masterpiece of world-building and insight and soul. Everything rings out in this fic: curiosity, fear, exhilaration, anticipation, contentment, pain, and always, most of all, love in all its forms. Not just romantic love, but the love of friendship and family, from crushing grief all the way up to incandescent happiness, and Pru never spares on any of it. I once described Pru's signature as heart-stopping descriptions of complex, soul-defining love, and I find I've never meant that more than I do right this moment, about this fic.

In which Arthur is a prosecution lawyer working at Cobb's firm and Eames is an annoyingly competent defense attorney who should be making Arthur's life hell, but who instead seems to only fill his life with, well, life. It's a lawyer AU ...OR IS IT? Oh god, this was so complexly wonderful, it's like having a lovely dream where something literally unbelievable happens--getting confused and realizing it's a dream and all the wonder and horror and sense of the possibilities that comes along with that realization. I hate that I had to use that metaphor for an Inception fic (SO AWKWARD), but seriously, that is what this fic is like, and it's glorious.

In which Arthur is in love with Dom and Mal, knowing they can never be to him what they are to each other, and it takes a lot of time for him to let that go. Oh God, personal canon, I cannot even. It's HEARTBREAKING, really the only bright side is the end, but it is so LOVELY, I can't say it's dark. It's just Arthur, being too wonderful for words, and Cobb and Mal burning too bright for him not to get burned by them, and nobody begrudging anybody for the scars. Beautiful.

In which Mal was right, and they unite trying to find a way to bring Cobb out. Oh God, this was so good. Like, goosebumps good. Guh.

In which Arthur is FBI and Eames is MI6 on loan to the CIA and they are supposed to work together on a mission and that goes as well as can be expected, by which I mean it is a gigantic one-upmanship fest overrun with UST and it is GLORIOUS. GLORIOUS, I SAY. Oh man.

In which Mal woke up. Heartbreaking, but never without hope. Absolutely lovely.

In which they're all at Hogwarts together and their lives are a WWN soap and it's all good. THIS WAS AMAZING. I didn't stop grinning the entire time I was reading, and sometimes I wasn't just grinning, I was in gigglefits like a toddler with a respiratory issue. Anything Eames said or did was golden, Arthur's detachment was fond and not alienating, everything with Cobb and Mal was hilariously awful, and Ariadne was as lovely as Arthur sees her. A great view into an awesome AU world. I only wish it had been longer.

In which Eames dreams up a rocket launcher, much to the amusement of Cobb and Mal. Pre-movie, and hilarious.
