In which Arthur and Eames are really, spectacularly, hilariously bad at having casual and meaningless sex. So bad I just mistyped that as "casual and meaningless relationship" without fully realizing that's an oxymoron. They've got even me making Freudian slips!

In which Arthur is a cranky senior and Eames is a professor of Dream Psychology. This fic is full of three of my favorite things, unending snark, romcom level feeeeeeeeeeeeelings, and hot professor smut. For a while I couldn't decide if the author was making Arthur sweat so often on purpose or not, but then I decided I didn't care. This fic is so perfect I want to scream Pink lyrics at it in the heat of the morning.

In which they're all in a roleplaying group together, and Arthur is thiiiiiick, but luckily Eames has decided to forgive him that. I loved the group dynamics in this fic so, so much.

So much tentacle sex. Yet somehow also adorable?

In which Eames is really a tentacle alien, but still the best boyfriend in the universe.

In which Arthur is not too pleased with all the degrading pet names. Oh my God, this was insanely delightful. Honesty is the greatest policy, lololol.

In which there is a Regency AU with enough intrigue and slow-burning attraction to rival the best harlequin romances. Hahaha, I loved this.

In which Eames wanders into Arthur's hipster used bookstore/cafe and never quite manages to wander out again.

In which there is the ballet AU to kill all ballet AUs stone dead with its awesomeness. This fic is off-puttingly, hilariously, often caustically blunt about attraction, feelings, and most especially about ballet. And yet, and yet, there's this strange, absolutely perfect sense that what these characters are premeditatedly murdering themselves over is indeed something higher, something beautiful, something beyond. I have no idea how that was achieved in a story that openly and extensively talks about body waxing, and muscle strain, and how ballet is essentially making bodies learn to be -wrong-, but it does happen, and it's absolutely breathtaking. It's the kind of fic that warms your heart so thoroughly with it's romcom vibe that you're almost surprised at how much your imagination has been stimulated, too.

In which Arthur is the student president wonderkind and Eames is the awkward theater kid and they get paired together for an English assignment. This was a completely lovely and delightful highschool!AU. These were two characterizations that I really enjoyed, I think because they spotlighted potential aspects of their personalities I hadn't seen explored before. Everything genre was note-perfect in that this-is-really-what-I-think-high-school-would-have-been-like-if-I'd-been-a-bit-cooler realistic fantasy way, and there were ace characterizations to boot. A completely irresistible combination!

In which someone is leaving obscure and intriguing quotes on Arthur's library carrel. Whooo, college TA AU! This was really lovely. 

“Arthur,” Eames had whispered, “I promise you, someday you'll want to kiss me back.”

And just like that, he'd disappeared into the ether, leaving Arthur to stand there in the terminal with his hair mussed and his fingertips pressed to his mouth.

It was the most efficient inception he'd ever witnessed.

In which Eames is stuck under-21 in America and Arthur is the only bartender in NY who realizes his ID is fake.

In which Arthur becomes the live-in nanny for  the criminally DILF Eames and his criminally adorable son. This is soooooo close to being done oh my God, I just want to know how it eeennnnds. At the same time, I never want it to end, so I can continue to reread it weekly on the excuse that I'm keeping current with it. Lovely, tender, really well-drawn family dynamic fic.

In which Eames is jealous of Arthur's vibrator, and perhaps with good reason. Hilarious and hot.

In which pop astrology and a healthy sense of their own UST makes them do it, but neither of them quite expect ~feelings~ to make their way into things. Oh dear God. I think this is my official post-movie canon. I just love how they're both still kind of assholes, unapologetically so, but they're humans, too, and they've got a sense of humor about it, and they figure out how to have feelings eventually, so it all works out.

In which there is a stepbrothers AU of epic (4.5 parts!) proportions.

In which Cobb is Shakespeare and Eames and Arthur are his Romeo and Juliet. Uhhhnnffff, the Shakespeare AU no one knew needed to exist now exists and it is GLORIOUS. Unnnn, so gorgeous.

In which Arthur has touch ESP and Eames is the first person he's touched since childhood that doesn't show him a horribly tragic future.

In which Arthur goes hitchhiking after the Inception job and Eames just happens to pick him up in Milton Keynes.

In which Arthur is having an insomnia crisis and it's broken all of his usual filters. Hahaha, this was great.

In which Arthur is a young pianist eager to distinguish himself and Eames is the star baritone that shines a brilliant light into Arthur's life. Their love is SO LIEDER, SRSLY. Anything that deals with Der Erlkonig has my immediate interest, but this verse is such a perfect musician AU. It's full to bursting with all the little moments where music and emotion and physicality connect in wondrous and world-rending ways (and sometimes in finicky, minute, anal-retentive ways, too, haha), in the performances and in their lives and in their love for each other.

In which Phillipa has decided that she will be marrying Eames, and Arthur takes her bids for his affections rather adorably seriously. SO, SO ADORABLE. PHILLIPA IS ADORABLE. EAMES IS ADORABLE. ARTHUR IS ADOOOOORABLE. My face has gone all goofy, I don't know what to do.

In which Arthur is a boy genius who kind of falls in with Mal and her experiments, and Cobb by extension, and finally, fatefully, Eames. Portrait of a boy genius fics are a not-so-secret favorite of mine, and this fic was that, and also a really cool exploration of how one might discover the many implications of the PASIV technology, and also a jailbait!romance of epic, lovely proportions. Lots to love, and lots of words to love it in. Yessss.

In which teenage Eames is obsessed with his English teacher, Arthur. Lol, I am such a sucker for this trope, but this was a fun fic.

In which Eames and Arthur meet while Arthur is working as a "massage therapist." Hahaha, amazing origin story. I liked the first and second acts better than the last act, which seemed to be trying too hard, too late, to make this fit into the movie canon. But the thing as a whole is a wild and enjoyable ride.

In which Arthur frequently leaves work-related (but tangent-ridden) voicemails for Eames, and Eames replies with literary flirtation and slight intoxication (like a boss). An aural epistolary romance! This was just 100% amazing.

In which ickle Eames discovers newly hatched Arthur, and it's the start of a beautiful partnership, I can already tell. OMG TEMERAIRE AU. MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE.

In which Eames bulks up, and Arthur can no longer resist. I don't really find excessive bulk attractive, so I set this fic aside for a long time, but then people started quoting all the funny parts and I reconsidered. It's a good thing I did because yessss, this fic is hilarious, and the prickly, snappish Arthur POV was especially so, yay.

In which John is targeted by the Inception team, but his projections are more than a little unorthodox. Oooooh, this was very cool.

In which Eames takes jailbait!Arthur's virginity. Unapologetically and scorchingly hot.

In which there are adorable geometry jokes, and adorable children's rhyme references, and the general adorableness that characterizes anything produced by red_rahl. :D

In which Arthur finally realizes his childhood dreams of fashion design by becoming a contestant on Project Runway. Adorable! Eames' voice in this was cheeky and endearing and totally hilarious.

In which Arthur keeps a file itemizing his sexual history and preferences, and Eames just got it sent to his Inbox. I cannot even. Deeply hilarious in a mildly disturbing way.

In which Arthur and Eames accidentally run into Eames's mother. Delightful kind of doesn't cover this hilariously abrupt introduction into a sham relationship trope and its perfectly succinct resolution, but that is indeed what this fic was!

In which domestic!verse Arthur and Eames celebrate their first New Years together as a full-fledged couple. Oh, this verse. Oh, these two. <3333333333

In which Eames is the Goblin King of limbo, and Arthur must solve Eames' labyrinth to free Dom's consciousness. Hahaha, this was an amazing mashup, and I just loved how it played out. Delightful from start to finish.

In which Eames and Arthur celebrate Chrismakkuh. :DDD

In which Eames is asexual and Arthur isn't and Arthur is trying really hard to wrap his brain around that. Ahhh, this was so great, and the epilogue just sweetened the deal to that much higher a level of perfection.

In which Arthur and Eames have become coparents/guardians of Phillipa and James, and Phillipa breaks her arm. Sweet little kidfic.

In which Arthur is the son of Santa Claus who's trying to be his own person and is sort of twitchy about Christmas and Eames is the Christmasiest person to ever carol in Victorian gear and somehow their liaison is going to work out for the best. Put on my Ella Fitzgerald Christmas album to read this, and it was the BEST decision because Ella is delightful and this fic is delightful and basically I can't wait for more. MOOORE.

In which Arthur is a dedicated copy-editor, Eames is a star journalist (who has been voted Most Likely To Fuck A Source For A Tip AND Most Likely To Commit Arson more than once), and theirs is an office romance for the ages.

In which Eames is an art student who is inspired by the very familiar looking nude model in one of his classes.

In which they are skittish of this thing they've found with each other, but with the benefit of time and patience, they negotiate each other into something that works. This was kind of unbearably wonderful in exactly the way that the prompt calls for: warm and tender while stoutly refusing to be cloying.

In which the important part is that Mal brings them together. This fic is staggeringly beautiful, not only as a fanfic, but as a work of art, if only for the essential truths it elegantly teaches/reminds us of. But it's also just geniusly written and hauntingly lovely in every way.

In which they were all Hollywood giants before Mal died and the fallout caused Dom, Arthur, and Eames to all make some of the worst decisions of their lives, but now Dom is searching for a comeback at any price and Arthur is searching for a happy medium and they are all perhaps searching for another chance. I don't know quite what to say here. This fic hits all the Hollywood AU high notes, but it is also one of the darkest Hollywood AUs I've ever read, and it's hard, and everybody's kind of an asshole. Which, I mean, assholes in love can be great, and this fic IS great, but it was also unexpectedly hard for me to take.

In which they run across the states until their luck runs out. Oh my God, killer. And a last line that rips your heart out even as you feel it swelling. I can't even. Just killer.

In which the team finds out that Arthur's last name is Eames. Because they are married. "Divorces?" HAHAHAHAHA, DYING.

In which they both play Wow, and they are unstoppable when they play together. This was kind of crazily fun, even as I continue to know nothing about Wow.

In which there is the Loveless AU to complete this very special circle of catboy!Arthur hell. I loved it.

In which Phillipa grows up and gets to know Mal and the kind of life her parents led. This was atmospheric and creepy and lovely and very, very poignant.

In which Eames is a tattoo artist when they first meet, and le hasard est une putain. This was actually a great fakeout!AU. I loved everyone in it--their characters are really well matched to the movie in a way that I don't often see in a fandom with such loose canon.

In which Eames is in a kissing booth teasing Arthur and Arthur is not amused. Which contains the lines: "Arthur visits to the pig pen instead. Pigs are his only friends now. Pigs are kind and faithful and cute, like Babe or Wilbur. Arthur could deal with that. Pigs don't kiss you in your basement one day and then go around kissing everybody in the entire town, god what a slut." Hahaha, adorable teenagers AU. ADORABLE.

In which they exchange letters and also Arthur is a wizard. It doesn't really make much sense, but it's not a bad fic even so.

In which there is a Temeraire AU and it is ADORABLE. ADORE-ABLE. *chinhands*

In which Eames and Arthur take in a stray by the name of Neal Caffrey. Or basically, the Arthur and Eames adopted Neal AU. This is kind of ridiculously great. The suspense sequences were surprisingly gripping and well-handled. The emotional moments were a little overwrought at times, but they're a family of thieves and gunmen, what else would you honestly expect? The heart and the reverence in this fic--for family, for love, and for art--is palpable in a wonderful and kind of humbling way, and that's what really sets this fic apart.

In which Eames seduces Arthur with fashion. Mmmmm, I enjoyed the links almost as much as I enjoyed the fic.

In which they kiss each other in very different ways over the years. This was absolutely gorgeous.

In which there is a theater kids AU.

In which they're separated in limbo, and looking, always looking, for each other. This was really, really beautiful and evocative prose.

Epic.

In which there is a delicious, delicious Hikaru no Go AU. OH MY GODDDD, INHUMAN PERFECTION.

In which they keep sending each other ever more ridiculously over the top gifts. HAHAHA. ALSO, EPIC FINAL LINE, OMG.

In which Eames falls in love with one version of Arthur, but of course, no one is ever only one version of themselves. This was wonderful--somehow both prickly and earnest at once. Really, really liked it.

In which Arthur calls Eames and Ariadne is intrigued. She's also a BADASS, hahaha. Also, Arthur is adorable. This was hysterical for how short it was. Also, amazing.

In which they need to leave Paris, but they can't leave. Sumptuous and poetic.

In which Arthur is in corporate law killing himself trying to make partner when Eames opens up a coffee shop across the street from his firm. Oh Lord, how do I even begin to describe the amazingness of this fic? The emotional depth, the humor, the tenderness, the heart-melting, mind-boggling levels of care that seems to have gone into every ounce of its craftsmanship, the affectionate glimmer of indulgence that puts a shine over it in all its confectionery glory... This fic is a triumph. It's really possible I got a contact high from merely reading about the amounts of caffeine consumed in this fic, but then again, that may be the thousands of hearts in my eyes.

In which Eames tricks Arthur into taking him to Arthur's high school reunion.

In which there is Arthur's shoujo doodles, and then some actual shoujo Arthur/Eames and then some other stuff that is almost but not quite as mind-blowingly amazing. "WHAT...WHAT IS THIS FEELING?" <3333333

In which Arthur continues to be drunk and horny and Eames gives in. Sublime (and sexy) crack. A final line that is to die for. Yeah, and a comic fanart. Amazing.

In which Arthur is drunk and horny...in public. Hahaha, Eames has never been so desperate for a taxi in his life. Just a tiny little fill, but it's weatherfront, so you know it's sexy and hilarious.
