In which Molly has her own life, and it's more complex than people tend to give her credit for, and she /lives it/. Lord above, this fic was a commitment and a half. 25,000 words of life happening, which was interesting and lovely, but not, you know, gripping literature, but then the reward is 25,000 more words of mind-blowing perfection going off like a bomb in my face and my /heart/, CHRIST. There are no words for the faces I made making this. There was one point where I was smiling so hard I actually felt my face go manic and creepy and had to corral my features into something more normal just to make sure they didn't stick that way. /Christ/, this fic. Yes.

In which Steve isn't adjusting as well to his new life as the majority of the world believes, but Tony has just enough self-awareness and genuine caring to see Steve through the worst parts, and maybe some of the best ones, too. Serious discussions of suicidal thoughts and ideations, but not nearly as bad as the author's summary originally led me to believe. Overall, this is a story about grief and depression, but I'd definitely say the focus is on help, companionship, love, family-- good things in dark times, you know? And since this is Copperbadge we're talking about, everything is handled with grace and a wry, affectionate humor that keeps the whole ship from sinking under its own weight.

In which Kurt meets Cooper when he and Blaine are in an extremely compromising position. Extremely hot and extremely hilarious. I can't stop grinning.

In which Kurt is an aloof "badboy" who gets dragged to a New Directions party where he finally meets the one person he's been avoiding all year, Blaine Anderson, and he finds all that Blaine offers hard to resist.

OOOHHHH MYYYYYY GOOOOOODDDDDDD. Yes. Just yes. Completely.

In which Kurt and Blaine discuss Rachel's news during a quicky. This was lovely and really sexy. Conversation AND sex!! It doesn't get better than this for me.

In which Blaine and Cooper grew up in very different households, really, but that would never mean they weren't brothers. God, this was perfect. Really, really perfect.

In which Blaine thinks and worries and stews in his bed, but his friends and Kurt are always there for him, one way or another. Alternatively, in which Blaine slightly vague on painkillers is heartbreaking and adorable. The return of Joseph from Thank You Mario!! Stands alone, but I liked that dude.

In which Chris and Darren have a very weird friendship. Very weird. Lololol. It was worth suffering through the intense secondhand embarrassment of the first fourth of this story, because it only got funnier as it went along, and it started out pretty damn funny.

In which we see Burt and Kurt telling Blaine, and Blaine in a bright haze of painkillers during that interaction. Hahahaha, adorable. Coda to Michael.

In which Stephen Fry has problems and all of them are Alan Davies. L o l o l o l o l o l o l. Good, yes.

In which Gregory Lestrade is Georgiana Lestrade, and she's amazing, and so are the Holmeses, when they're not occupied with being terrible. Yes, yes, yes, seriously, yes. I was screaming with laughter and blushing with pleasure and completely won over, 100%, a thousand times yes.

In which Sherlock discovers that John is a medical marvel in addition to being a marvel in so many other ways. This was quite interesting! Though I think I would have liked it better if the obvious metaphor hadn't been so explicitly spelled out. But it was a sweet as fuck metaphor, so I think I'm okay with what I got here.

In which Kurt and Blaine meet at Oberlin, in a different but not sooo different world. I liked that this was quiet and understated, a calculated stillness that always felt purposeful and sure. You could really feel how it fit in with the album the author recs in the AN. I really started to feel like I was tripping out after a while, floating along with these two boys. The fic is complete, but there's set to be more in this verse, and I kind of can't wait.

In which Kurt is a Cheerio and Blaine is a nerd who gets assigned to tutor him in math. I quite liked the politics of this fic, how much worse things could have been with more people on the safer side of the hierarchy, how much harder they all have to work to be good people. Harsh, but somehow sweeter for it.

In which Burt makes it to president, and Kurt and Blaine never met in high school. Presidential family AU, omg!!!! This is extremely adorable and I want the rest of it immediately.

In which we see the early days of Sherlock and Molly's association. Oh my god, for something pre-S2, this fic's characterization is almost scarily prescient.

In which they live in a world where people produce gemstones as manifestations of their wishes and desires. This was very cool, an extremely neat and clever magical realism character exploration. I was thrown a bit by the epic climax. It was all a little bit Sailor Moon for me, quite the Silver Crystal-producing moment, if you catch my implication...? But I've been conditioned to be delighted by stuff like that, so it ultimately worked for me. Others might find it a bit cloying.

In which Chris is fresh off the boat from Clovis to attend college in San Francisco while rooming with a lot of older guys, one of whom makes him feel giddy with possibility, like everything and anything can happen. Warmly evocative, with a strong and sweet emotional arc. The romantic developments were extremely obvious, but in a fun and hilariously frustrating way, as all good romcoms are. I was reduced to screaming about how idiotic Chris was being into gchat, is what I'm getting at here. The words "JUST KISS ALREADY" might have escaped my actual mouth in the course of reading. It was cute and sweet and funny and just a lovely read.

In which John doesn't exactly move on with his life, but he doesn't exactly stop moving either. Sequel to The Perils of Urban Warfare, but S2 compliant (mostly--here, they were together romantically during it). This was hard, full of thoughts on mourning and the long, slow effort of living through it. I was unsatisfied with where the fic ended, but I can't imagine any other way it could or should have ended. It's a fic about how unsatisfying loss of this magnitude is. It fits.

In which John holds out as long as he can, but there's only so much he can hold back when his best friend's just been resurrected. This didn't seem very English, lololol. But I absolutely loved the idea of John feeling himself healing as fresh kind of agony.

In which we see Kurt in quiet moments, biding and saving and shoring his time. This fic was really lovely for the look we get of Kurt in moments of understated courage and simple affection. And the meta revolving around his clothing choices was enchanting and on point.

This vid is actually unfair. I started out loling because of the song choice and a questionable use of the ~so heterosexual~ spin from TBB, but around the halfway point I was sucked in and suddenly violently choking up. By the end, I was completely gone. On my tombstone, I want it to read "strangled by Sherlock feels," and I want this vid brought up on charges of involuntary manslaughter. Fuck this fandom, seriously. The hiatus turned us all into sentimental sadomasochists.

In which Kurt starts to get inklings that Blaine has submissive fantasies, and finally just tries out a scenario with Blaine, to see if this is something they both want and can handle.

In which Kurt is an up-and-coming wedding planner who hires a complete unknown to be his career-making wedding band, a decision based entirely on the charisma of their bowtie-loving frontman. This was simply pitch-perfect, hilarious and giddy and tender in all the right and most endearing of ways. One extended thrill ride of not-at-all-guilty pleasure.

In which Molly keeps Sherlock's secrets, and his counsel. Ahhh, Molly, my stars. This was lovely.

In which John and Lestrade and eventually a small crowd start meeting in memory of Sherlock. This was really, really lovely. Bittersweeet, but quietly--like a consolation, or an apology, or a promise--just a bit more sweet than bitter.

In which John finds out there was a will.

In which Santana grows up, healthy and well and whole. Well, this hit me in the stomach in the absolute best way possible. All of my crazy Santana feelings resolved in one sweet, strong chord.

In which the first thing the newly-departed Sherlock Holmes does is call Irene Adler. This is everything I want in too small and short a package. I just need these two being psychotic dorks together and Molly as their contact in England being just as dorky and blessedly not as psychotic. I want that fic added to this fic. Then I would have everything I want.

In which Benedict falls in love with his costar, and then slowly finds his way out of the mire of it. This was unbelievably, beautifully, heart-rendingly done. I wouldn't have thought I'd care enough, but this fic made me care a thousand times over, deep into my bones.

In which it is John who is dead for three years, and Sherlock who stutters through his grief into some semblance of moving on. Pre-S2 canon, post a non-canon Reichenbach. This was frenetically gorgeous, a captivating portrait of Sherlock in the disarray of mourning. I could have taken or left the photography hobby, but in the end, I loved where the story went with it, what it meant in Sherlock's psyche.

In which learning about appropriate spending from Tony Stark was never going to end in moderation, but Steve puts his money to good use. ADORABLE TEAM FIC WITH HEAPS OF ADORABLE FLIRTING? TAKE ME NOW, FIC. TAKE ME NOW.

In which Peter and Elizabeth were pretty much it for each other from the get go, and it's lovely how smooth the run's been from there. I love El and Peter in a deep and sure part of my heart, and this fic is a warm and funny and perfectly encapsulated illustration of why.

In which Sherlock asks for advice in composing a love letter. I am 100% positive I've already read this fic, and yet I do not appear to have saved it? POOR JOB, PAST ME. This is very, very cute.

In which John and Sherlock are blood bonded, which means something very specific in this universe, something incredibly complex and fascinating. Written pre-S2, but post a non-canon Reichenbach. When I say this fic is complex and fascinating, I really, really mean it. As usual, Luchia writes enchanting fantasy AUs that are somehow chilling and wryly funny and completely in character all at the same time. My one big criticism is that it ends on an aprupt note. It's warned for, but I don't think I was really prepared for how hard my heart would be left screaming for a continuation.

In which John barely makes it out of the pool alive, but it is Sherlock who does not make it out of the pool unchanged. Pre-S2 canon. I wanted to like this more than I did, for connected reasons. The first is that the arc of the fic was metaphoric in a really unsubtle way that I found I couldn't appreciate. And second, Sherlock suffering under that metaphor was not quite brilliant enough for me to feel like he was believably characterized. By that, I think I mean he felt normal things, and dealt with them normally (at least from a psychological standpoint), and that was a huge disconnect for me. As a normal human being caught in a similar sort of self-imposed limbo, I was deeply weirded out to have Sherlock living my stupid life, when the reason to love him is that he lives a much more crazy/impossible i.e. brilliant one.

In which Sherlock keeps his own council, and then bees, and eventually John Watson.

In which John works, and waits, and isn't crazy. It's really unfair to have read The Perfect Post-Reichenbach Fic less than a week after the damn episode aired. The catharsis in this fic is a force to be reckoned with. The infinitely careful and yet brutal honesty of it something to cherish.

In which there is an underground movement.

In which the first time Kurt sees Blaine after five years is on a forty foot billboard in Times Square. Cute reconnection futurefic!!! I liked the slightly fairytale version of NYC they were inhabiting, where dreams may be forced to change and evolve, but they still come true.

In which Kurt and Blaine work up to their first time with some increasingly scandalous sexting and phonesex. This was extremely hot and extremely sweet. Though I'm very impressed with Kurt and Blaine's ability to text one-handed, overall, this fic had a voice that was believable for its youth and honesty.

In which John talks to his therapist, and to Sherlock, and fails to move on. Well, that hurt like a kick in the teeth.

In which they live in a world where people are blind until they fall in love. This was a fascinating universe, and the ways that the author used it to play with and reorient canon were enchanting.

In which Blaine has an unusual career plan, but it works for him, so Kurt's willing to try to make it work for them. I would never have considered Blaine pursuing busking like this, but I was surprised how canonically it fits with him. The mom voice in me that yelled when Blaine transferred to McKinley started yelling about 2 seconds into this fic, and was gradually quieted, which says all sorts of good things for how convincingly this author laid it out for me. A cute little story that shook up my headcanon in a surprising and surprisingly delightful way.

In which there is a small, but significant moment between Steve and Tony amid some New Years revelry.

In which Kurt and Blaine have never dated, but neither of them want to go off to college a virgin, so they make an exploratory arrangement that's doomed to become more complicated than they intend. Indulgent, but obviously and unapologetically so, and really very satisfying because of it.

In which Blaine frets his way into picking a specialty and Kurt frets his way into an understanding of Ophelia. Continuance of the Unscripted verse. I seriously cannot with Rainjoy. I never, ever can. All the heart sighs and all the heart eyes forever.

In which Blaine and Rachel are siblings and Kurt comes over all the time for sleepovers with his bestie, and perhaps also to fall head over heals for her brother. Anderberry, the fanfic. Currently accepting no substitutes because this series is adorable. A WIP verse, but each part can function as an ending.

In which we see a few missing/expanded scenes between Kurt and Blaine from the time they get together to their first time. Obviously lovingly done, and very lovely for the effort. Lots of moments here were very much my own headcanon.

In which, when Blaine runs a family owned coffeeshop and Kurt opens a tea shop next door that steals half his business, things look likely to go the way of The Godfather except their conspiring employees set them up, You've Got Mail style. An enjoyable romantic comedy of a fic.

In which we see what is advertised on the tin, and it is full of the flush of youth and love and silliness and attraction, all together, recorded in moments of sleepiness and cuddles. Nothing could be better than this.

In which they find a safe space to explore each other, and they grow and change and love in lots of ways. This was lovely, and the ENDING, hahaha.

In which the issue of in-school PDA is confounded by hallways full of mistletoe and one very resentful Kurt Hummel. This was bittersweet, but oh, my heart, these two. Baaaaaw.

In which, if Kurt and Blaine are sinning, at least they're sinning together. A five things fic, seven deadly sins style. This fic is practically perfect in every way. Engaging, warm, clever, romantic, and outrageously funny. I cackled not only unattractively, but also obtrusively at more than one moment in this fic. Particularly during Wrath and Greed. Basically, this fic was fucking delightful, and that's the truth of it.

In which Blaine is the ruler of an empire which is considering invading Kurt's small kingdom, but of course, the ways of the Hummels start to change Blaine's perspective. Set in a dystopian future. A nearly 17,000 word fic that seemed like it could have easily filled another 10,000+ words. Not that it seemed unfinished, it just felt like everything sped along at a steady (and always engaging) pace. I quite liked what I got here, though I'd characterize it more as a very flavorful taste of this world than a full-bodied experience. In a way, I kind of liked that better. I wasn't forced to commit to some sprawling epic fantasy WIP, it was just straightforward wysiwyg, so I was able to kick back and enjoy the ride. Small commitment, high entertainment, you know? Overall, a quintessentially enjoyable holiday fest fic.

In which Sherlock and John meet playing an MMORPG (WoW?) instead of through Mike. And it's amazing. OMG ETOTHEPII. THE SHERLOCK FANDOM IS OFFICIALLY BACK ON FOR ME NOW.

In which Blaine and Kurt end a busy day of holiday commitments and errands with a late night stroll and each other and snow. This was small and shining and perfect.

In which Blaine is one of the firefighters that comes to put out a minor mishap in Kurt and Rachel's new apartment. Another firefighter AU! I didn't like this one quite as much as I liked the other one, but it had its own merits, especially in its engagement with its fairly large cast of characters and the way it really took advantage of the scenes and settings available in NYC. The one major problem I had with it was that it was very repetitive on the whole "I can't believe this person likes/wants/loves me how did I get so lucky how are they so perfect oh my god feeeeelings" front. Those sorts of thoughtstreams proliferated as the story went on--by the end, they were appearing multiple times a chapter--and became more ridiculous than romantic after a while. But apart from that one issue, I quite enjoyed this fic for the romantic romp around Brooklyn and Manhattan that it was.

In which Blaine and Santana have a little moment about family and upheaval and acceptance just before Christmas break. For such a small thing, this ficlet certainly hits a huge amount of my buttons. Santana snark, whipped Blaine, heart-to-hearts, emotionally climactic song interludes, oh maaaan. Instant headcanon. My Blaintana creys.

In which Blaine is really into Christmas, and Kurt is really not, and while this doesn't actually lead to relationship strife, it does lead to a lot of cute Christmas-y misunderstandings.

In which they're still dancing with each other, years later.

In which Charles is an archaeologist, but Erik makes him an adventurer. An Indiana Jones AU that felt a bit [quieter? grittier?] than that exactly implies. But this fic was a slow build of history and suspense and emotion and power that led to an ecstatically thrilling conclusion. Not entirely unrelatedly, my bulletproof kink for telepathic sex was pushed mercilessly in this fic, and I've never been more satisfied having it so abused. In conclusion, thehoyden killed it, and possibly me. Business as usual, then.

In which it's very inconvenient to crush on your best friend's younger brother when your best friend is Rachel Berry. This Anderberry siblings verse is blowing up on Tumblr and I LOVE IT. This fic is my favorite thing to have come out of that, so far.

In which we see Chel and the early days of her life with Tulio and Miguel, and glimpses of the rest of her life, and her people, too. Yessss, Chelllll.

In which Kurt is very unhappy to be entering into a contractual marriage, but his new husband is willing to do anything to convince him they have a chance at a future together. Sexy, sexy sex scenes, a masterful third-person limited perspective, and a compelling emotional arc. This fic is pure indulgence, but it's spectacularly well-conceived and well-executed indulgence that I thoroughly enjoyed reading.

In which Kurt is grieving profoundly in an alternate version of S2, and Blaine arrives on the scene almost too late to be of any help, but it's Blaine, and it's KURT, and they try for each other. This was hard and sad and desperately, desperately beautiful. As is usual when this author is at her best, Rainjoy writes the most amazingly evocative, compelling prose out there--grabbing your heart and taking it for a journey, dragging it through water and fire, ice and earth, until she finally sets you down somewhere new, blinking and awed and miraculously unharmed. It's weird to call a fic this hard and sad a joy, but its quality is so exhilarating I hardly know what else to say.

In which Kurt and Blaine keep a couple's journal to tide them over during their year of separation.

In which Blaine sends a text to the wrong number, and they become texting buddies. AU where they don't meet in high school. This is completely delightful in every way. I think I've laughed obnoxiously at something in every part so far. Can't wait to see where this goes.

Well, the ones I have read are fantastic, and the ones I haven't are ones I've been told to read so many times it's embarrassing, so let's just leave this here.

In which we see Steve's slowly growing understanding of the enigma that is Tony Stark, broken and earnest and loveable just as he is. Steve's POV to Ready Fire Aim, and it is perfect. So many feels. All of the feels. I love just Gyzym's fics. She always breaks my heart, but the hurt is always so beautifully, carefully done, and the healing after is somehow even more so. I felt that in this fic more than usual.

In which Blaine and his dad have been running from their past (from the Island) for almost a decade, but no one can run forever. Glee/Lost fusion/crossover. Despite the fact that I've never seen an episode of Lost, this fic has me 100% hooked and opening wiki- and lostpedia pages left and right. Not because I can't follow what's happening, but just because I'm so fascinated I want to know EVERYTHING. What is a dharma initiative? lolol Can't wait to see more of this.

Well, that was intensely well done.

In which Eugene's fathers come into the picture. SCREAMING, OMG, I DON'T CARE THAT THIS IS A FIC THAT WILL NEVER BE FINISHED, WHAT THERE IS OF IT IS SO AWESOME IT BARELY EVEN MATTERS.

In which there is the time after the first time, and it's just as amazing--maybe even better because the pressure's off and they can still have this and it's still, always, really amazing. It's hard to believe a fic this good exists, where it's just these boys being these boys, exploring each other in a way that reads as perfectly, warmly in character. A little funny, a lot sexy, and overwhelmingly right.

“Can I touch you?” Kurt asks in a whisper against Blaine’s jaw.

“You don't have to ask,” Blaine assures him.

Kurt shrugs his shoulder and doesn’t move his hand. “Maybe I like to hear you say yes.”

Blaine pulls back so that he can look into Kurt’s eyes, because he knows this is serious even if he can’t understand all of why this very second. “/Yes/.”

Though my soul may set in darkness, it will rise in perfect light;
I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.

In which Kurt and Blaine continue to navigate their relationship with each other and their parents, but this time with the added complications of beginning to seriously think about sex. Yesssss, loved this, too. But noooo, it ended in an EVEN MORE awkward place. WHY. MORE. (There isn't more.) (FOR NOW. GLARE.)

In which Kurt and Blaine navigate their budding relationship, between themselves and their parents, it's a lot to wade through. I loved this. Blaine's parents were the exact right amount of frustrating for me to believe it. I ached for him, but watching how he was with Kurt (and Kurt was with him) made it all better. That being said, what a terribly abrupt ending. Luckily this seems to be an ongoing verse.
