Nong Poonsukwattana has reached celebrity-chef status with her Thai rendition of Hainanese chicken. She dishes it up from a little red and yellow cart on S.W. 10th and Alder, just like it’s served in Bangkok. Nong recently opened two new spots (S.W. College and 4th; and S.E. 6th and Ankeny), and is planning to start selling bottles of her special gingery fermented soy bean sauce later this month, so you’ll be able to make her Khao Man Gai at home when she’s sold out for the day.

How to Make Khao Man Gai ข้าวมันไก่: Thai Version of Hainanese Chicken and Rice
february 2012 by edmadrid
Khao Man Gai, one of the most common street foods in Thailand, is, in short, a mutation, albeit controlled, of Hainanese chicken and rice. Overshadowed by the original dish and rarely included on the menus of most Thai restaurants in the West, Khao Man Gai (ข้าวมันไก่) is not widely known outside of Thailand.
