this is from may, when Guru was hospitalized for a heart attack - there is/was bad blood between Solar/Guru and Guru's "ex-DJ" Premier (the other half of GangStarr). I hesitate to bring this up at this time, but there is some weird stuff in Guru's post-mortem letter.

"I, Guru, am writing this letter to my fans, friends and loved ones around the world. I have had a long battle with cancer and have succumbed to the disease." He was 43. I'll play Above the Clouds tonight for him. RIP.
