At least two plastic factories which also PT Sumber Mas warehouse in Rawa Lele warehouse area, RT 04/10, Kalideres burned down on Friday (4/29). Luckily, there are no casualties in the fire incident. But, money loss predicted up to hundreds of million rupiahs.
Maskun (32) local resident expressed that the fire started at 7 am. Even though the factory had not operated, dozens of employees had come to begin their activities. Suddenly fire started inside the factory. The employees and local resident tried to extinguish the fire. But, the fire grew bigger and spread to other buildings due to flammable objects.
"The residents have tried extinguishing the fire but the effort was result-less," said Maskun, Friday (4/29).

JAKARTA, INDONESIA (BNO NEWS) -- Indonesia's Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Darwin Zahedy Saleh on Monday said the fire-fighting efforts at the Pertamina refinery in Central Java was going well, three days after the initial explosion.
Zahedy said there was only one tank to be extinguished after the fire had been successfully isolated from damaging further tanks, Indonesia's Antara news agency reported.
One of the fire-fighting methods of using a helicopter to spread foam was postponed due to the high level of difficulty, as officials said the method had to be 99.9 percent accurate since practically all the refinery is being considered a danger zone.

TANGERANG: Fire razed at least five warehouses on Friday at Block D No. 29 of the Mutiara warehousing complex in Kosambi district, Tangerang regency.
Fire engines from the Tangerang regency and Tangerang municipality fire departments quickly arrived to put out the fire Friday afternoon.
The fire first began at about 3 p.m. at a warehouse storing chemical substances, eyewitness Agus Suprianto said.
“The burning chemicals in the warehouse caused repeated explosions and spread flames to other warehouses,” he said, adding that there were some 15 daily workers employed by the chemical warehouse.
Casualties or fatalities have not yet been determined. — JP

At least one person has been killed and two others injured after a tank containing hydrochloric acid exploded at a chemical factory in Banten on Friday.
Antara said the factory in Bojonegara, Serang district, was owned by PT Sulfindo Adiusaha.
The deceased has been identified as Jumani, 22. His body and those who survived the explosion have been evacuated to the Krakatau Medika Hospital in Cilegon.
The factory management has not commented on the incident, with an official at their head office telling the Jakarta Globe that they were unaware of the explosion

JAKARTA: Kalideres Police have suspected chemical substances as the cause of a huge fire that razed Swallow sandal factory and claimed four lives on March 11.
The Kalideres chief detective Second Insp. Herru Y.S. said that the suspicion was based on testimonies from employees and the owner of PT Sinar Jaya Perkasa, sandal producer, in Tegal Alur of West Jakarta.
Quoting the testimonies,
Herru told kompas.com that the witnesses had seen chemical material had suddenly caused the fire to spread to other parts of the building.
He added that a forensic laboratory from the National Police had reconstructed the incident but had not found the cause, the result pending samples of burned chemical substance. — JP

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Fire-fighters were on Saturday still unable to extinguish a blaze at a sandal factory on Jalan Kamal Raya, West hajarta, which broke out last Thursday (March 11).
"Today we have deployed 22 fire trucks to put out the fire at the factory," Pardi, a fire brigade officer, said here on Saturday.
He said the flames on top of the building were actually already under control but chemical substances in the factory had reignited the fire.
According to the police, four people were still known to be in the burning building.
"We received reports from four families saying their relatives who had been working in the factory went missing after the fire started," chief of criminal affairs at the Kalideres police precinct Inspector Heru SY said.
Heru said the cause of the fire was still unknown. Up till now, the factory`s management had refused to make any comments about the incident. (*)
