IIS Transform Manager
10 weeks ago by danesparza
IIS Transform Manager 1.0 Beta is a media-transform engine that enables on-demand media files to be converted in batches. One example of a media transform is transcoding Windows Media-formatted or MP4-formatted files into on-demand Smooth Streaming presentations for delivery to Silverlight clients. Another example is repackaging on-demand Smooth Streaming presentation files to the MPEG-2 Transport Stream (MPEG-2 TS) container format for delivery to Apple mobile digital devices.

Secret folder automatically adds content to iTunes | TechCrunch
august 2011 by danesparza
If you drop an MP3 into there they get sucked into iTunes and disappear immediately, like a magic box. This would allow you to record your own music, for example, and add it to iTunes when you mix down and/or drag all your recently downloaded tunes straight into iTunes.

Iphone Tutorial: Creating a RSS Feed Reader
june 2010 by danesparza
Creating an RSS reader for iphone is a great way to learn about the language. In this tutorial we’re going to create a rss reader that can also play podcasts. Such application will require us to download and parse a rss feed, display the data in a table and play a remote podcast. In this article I assume a minimal knowledge of cocoa programming, but you should be able to follow even if this is the first time you’re coding an iphone application.

Your life is complicated enough as it is. The tool to manage your life shouldn't be. The Hit List keeps things simple by not forcing you to learn a system. It can be as simple as just keeping a list of things to do as you would on a piece of paper. However, if you do have a task management system such as Getting Things Done by David Allen, The Hit List is flexible enough to support you.

Thoughts on Flash
april 2010 by danesparza
I wanted to jot down some of our thoughts on Adobe’s Flash products so that customers and critics may better understand why we do not allow Flash on iPhones, iPods and iPads. Adobe has characterized our decision as being primarily business driven – they say we want to protect our App Store – but in reality it is based on technology issues. Adobe claims that we are a closed system, and that Flash is open, but in fact the opposite is true. Let me explain.

How To Unlock an iPhone - PCWorld
march 2010 by danesparza
If you're one of the million people who've purchased an iPhone since the end of June, you probably signed up with Apple's exclusive carrier in the U.S., AT&T, when you activated your phone. That means your iPhone identifies itself to AT&T's network using an AT&T SIM card, a smart card that's located in a small tray between your iPhone's sleep/wake button and its recessed headphone jack.

Review: XtremeMac Verona Flip Leather Cases for iPod nano, classic & touch | iLounge
january 2009 by danesparza
Flip-closed leather iPod and iPhone cases continue to appear at a staggering pace, but unfortunately, innovation remains elusive: other than small changes to their shapes and materials, the latest offerings are no better than last year's, and from our perspective are even less worthwhile given that they limit your access to the device's increasingly important screens. Today, we look briefly at twelve flip-closed leather cases from five companies -- Belkin, Capdase, CoverCase, Pacific Rim Technologies, and XtremeMac -- but note up front that the only marginally impressive features of any of them are their leather detailing and protectiveness. This review is for XtremeMac's Verona Flip for the iPod nano ($25), iPod classic ($30), and iPod touch ($30).
