So I've been intrigued by these devices for years, but more for what you could do with them if you put them in awkward social situations. Years ago, while at Arnell Group, I proposed a program for JavaOne where developers could programs devices as buttons based on their paths of interest - and the buttons would react if a match was made and then 2 nerdy developers could get really nerdy with a conversation. It didn't fly because we didn't have the time and this was sort of a shame.
While I tried to do it for a tech conference, just think what it would be like to do this for a social situation. Devices based off of your Facebook profile? Relationship status, interests, etc. If 2 people pass each other and are a match, there you go. Don't forget to invite me to the wedding.

State of the Art - No Keyboard? And You Call This a BlackBerry? - NYTimes.com

David Pogue, often the Apple lobbyist, provides his unbiased review of the Blackberry Storm. Pogue rips the RIM touchscreen device and then kicks it while its down. While the Storm has been in the market for a few days now, I wonder if this review will remove him from the short list for advance reviews..
