SimsBlog: Top 10 Lies Newspaper Execs are Telling Themselves
My favourite word at the Scripps National Spelling Bee this year was “Omphalaskepesis”: the act of looking at one’s navel. It’s a great word for what’s going on in the newspaper industry right now. They are lying to themselves and it will only serve to speed their demise. Here are the Top 10 lies as I see them. I’ve saved the biggest, fattest one for last. Lie #1: We can...

Boeing unveils a radically new kind of aircraft. - Mar. 13, 2007
How to build a flat pressurized cargo hold is one challenge; another is asking passengers to sit 25 seats away from the window. Still, the rising costs of air travel may leave future road warriors with no choice but to blend into a blended-wing.

Daily Irreverence: Microwave Propulsion
Because the microwaves are moving close to (or at) the speed of light, relativistic effects must be taken into account. This means “that the microwaves move in their own frame of reference. In other words they move independently of the cavity - as if th
