If Regulus hadn't snitched, he should be fine, whether they were in or not. He could not, of course, tell from across the square. It's the day before Remus' nineteenth birthday, and Sirius is at an utter gift-giving loss.

Some people press their memories between pages of scrapbooks; others have fancy photographs that wave and dance. Sirius has music.

Kicked out of the house by a best mate who's about to propose, Sirius heads to the Leaky fully intending to drown his frustration in a of pint of beer, but the blonde woman across the bar seems like a much better outlet for it.

"Come on, Padfoot," James pleaded, grabbing him by the shoulders. "What does it matter if you see her before the wedding? Won't do anything to your future life and happiness."

War is coming, and Narcissa is scared for Draco. So she turns to the only person she can think of – Sirius Black.

"Mother will be most displeased. But not at me. It's not my room that's going to be covered in mostly unclad Muggle women. It's Sirius. And he deserves it, after what he said."
