Other than the fact that Peter should remember how they both have this terrible habit of loving the chase more than the follow-through, he should also realize that if his theory were true, Neal would have to be sleeping with Peter for more consecutive hours than there are in the day.

Elizabeth's not stupid; she obviously knows who's she married: 50% to Peter Burke, and 50% to the U.S. government. Now she just has to figure out if Neal is officially part of the U.S. government, or if she needs to revise her percentages.

He was just so charming.

Neal found Kate on the eighteenth of March, in a hotel on the Upper West Side exactly fifty yards beyond the edge of his two-mile radius.

Before seeing the picture, she'd just slotted Neal Caffrey in as one more thing Peter's brain couldn't let go of, and amusing yourself while your spouse hunted down the greatest international art thief of the age was certainly classier than being a football widow.

"How can you forge a car?"

Specifically: the thought that inviting Neal for Christmas dinner would not result in any trouble and would, in fact, be an act of goodwill and kindness.

Peter thinks, this should be harder. He thinks, she's never liked my other partners this much. As he refills both their glasses and opens another bottle, he thinks, I shouldn't like the way he makes her smile, but Christ I do.

Neal doesn't call Peter anything but 'Peter'. When it all first starts, and he is carefully figuring out his place in their life, he sometimes has trouble calling Peter anything at all, because his throat closes up around the sound of Peter's name. During that time he lavishes what feels like enormous amounts of affection on Satchmo, whom he calls Mo; he adds various words to suit the moment. Mo Food, Mo Walks, Mo Peeing, Mo Petting. Mo Love. When Peter just looks at him and smiles, Neal thinks, 'I am as transparent as glass,' which is not a thought he is comfortable with, but he gets used to it. And eventually, 'Peter' rolls off of his tongue again, easily--said, growled, shouted, whispered, breathed. Peter. Peter. Peter.

Neal's accidentally working for the mob, Kate is probably considering a new client list, Mozzie's waiting for The Man and The Man is a little more amused than it should be. But that's later.
