What if we all donated $$ to a pot, and if a legislator sponsors a bill we actually like, and actually votes for it, and it is signed by the president, then they get paid at each step of the way. Wouldn't that reduce their dependence on $$ from special interests, and give them freedom to do the right thing? Obama made a huge miscalculation by throwing away single-payer for a promise of $150 million from the insurance industry. His supporters could easily spend that much or more to back a bill that delivers true reform.
