The buzz around the blogosphere and on various online news sites is that there is a battle happening in mathematics, namely π versus τ. Headlines in newspapers and on blog articles often declare that π is wrong and tend to mislead the general public...
But pi is far from being ugly and mathematicians are certainly not going to replace the circle constant any time soon. The fact is, most mathematicians have never heard of the Tau Movement, and those who have, simply dismiss tauists as cranks.
