Good and Bad Procrastination
I hadn't come across this when I wrote my piece on doing the Hard Things first (http://rousette.org.uk/blog/archives/do-the-hard-thing-first/), but this is a great essay on getting your priorities right.

Mac Must Have: Hazel | The Brooks Review
I bought Hazel and while ago, and have been meaning to blog about it. This is a very eloquent explanation of the beauty and usefulness of Hazel. I have a Hazel rule (using Applescript) which imports PDF files placed in a 'Receipts to File' folder on my desktop into a Receipts group in DevonThink Pro, then trashes the original. I use that a lot.

focus booster live - the pomodoro technique
A simple, but nicely designed web app to start a work/break timer to help you focus on what you should be doing. Everynow and again when my brain gets all squirrelly, I find these kinds of timers useful.

Aptonic Software - Dropzone
Very interesting app which provides custom 'Destinations' to perform handy tasks. It's nothing you couldn't do with an Applescript, but it's very slick and easy to use. Even better, it has a brilliant API with which you can create Destinations in Ruby. It's simple, but really powerful.

Stickyscreen
A simple but cool idea: type a reminder into the big sticky note and set it as your home page, so that your mantra or reminder to put the bins out is in front of your face.

LaunchBar 5 Beta
Excellent update to LaunchBar. The clipboard history feature in particular is very nicely done, and the calculator has become much more powerful as it can now be invoked with its own hotkey, and uses the *nix utility bc.

Stuff I love: Muji Chronotebook — jackcheng.com
A great, simple idea: forget about the grids of traditional diaries or day planners and have a blank page with an analogue clock outline in the centre, on which you can mark off your appointments. Then the rest of the page is free to do whatever you want with. It acknowledges the fact that the stuff we do tends not to be evenly distributed over the day.

Weather Tree - Dorothy Thelwall Designs
Rather a nice idea: a printed outline of a tree in leaf, with each branch representing a month and each leaf a day. You colour in the leaves to record the weather or anything else you want to keep track of (like mood, exercise etc.).
