october 2010 by bsag
A good introduction to some useful features of awk. I don't use Unix tools like this nearly as much as I could/should.

This looks like a nice collection of simple, but capable, applications for a variety of platforms. I found quite a few I hadn't heard of before.

Dropbox - ArchWiki

Using Dropbox with minimal window managers that don't have a dock/panel area, and when you don't use Nautilus as a file manager. It's pretty easy with the latest forum release, but this guide is handy for setting it up properly, including adding it as a daemon.

I had no idea that this utility existed. Looks like a very useful way to debug changes to awesome config files without messing up a working, running version.

Installing Arch for Beginners
october 2008 by bsag
I've just installed Arch on VMFusion for a work project, and I'm really impressed with it. It's very fast and the fact that it installs very little be default is a strength rather than a weakness, particularly when want it to be as light as possible. I'm quite proud of myself for installing and configuring X11 myself!
