Why No iLife-Equivalent for Windows? | Joe Wilcox
"Apple released iLife for Macintosh in January 2003. Every year or so, the suite gets better, with no Windows developer offering anything comparable. Isn’t it about time?" "By controlling the dominant digital media content creation stack, Macs are hugely popular among important influencers."

L2TP/IPsec server behind NAT-T in Vista | Microsoft
Amazingly, there is no graphical user interface to enable Windows Vista to connect to a VPN when either the client or server is behind a NAT, and it doesn't adjust automatically either. No, you need to edit a bloody registry setting. No wonder Cisco make good money on VPNs.

MDIs on the Mac (Updated) | ignore the code
It's nice to know other people share my bugbears, even after all this time of Windows incomers diluting the Mac-ishness of the UI. I wish he'd expanded his point about Safari (which I still use without tabs on the Mac, damnit).

The Easiest Way to Linux | Wubi
Slightly nuts Ubuntu Linux installer that lets you put a Linux disk image on a hard disk (no partitioning) then uses magic bootloader invocations to start up. What's next, a freeware Q VM?

Looks like it is possible to get the Web Inspector, but only by installing a nightly webkit build. Probably because it's not all there yet (on Windows anyway).

Geek to Live: Manage multiple Firefox profiles - Lifehacker
It's time for me to move up from Firefox 1.5, I think. Cloning a profile so I can return to it if I don't like 2.0 (or the Gran Paradiso alphas) seems like a good idea.
