A review of Eyewitness: Hungarian Photography in the 20th Century at the Royal Academy and Thomas Struth: Photographs 1978- 2010 at the Whitechapel Gallery. Both look interesting, although Campbell definitely prefers the former: "As photography moves into the museums of modern art it loses some of the sprightliness and poetry that the Hungarians brilliantly exemplified." (Subscriber only.)

"George Condo has been a singular voice in American and European art for almost three decades." Looks like the venue might be well worth a visit. Closes 8th May 2011.

"Hoferer makes drawings that create luminous and beguiling optical effects through the refraction of light on their surfaces. Although the drawings begin with a preconceived structure of precise grids, the artist deliberately invites the interaction of chance, intuition, and imperfection as she works." Closes 16th October.

"They find new and unique languages to articulate visually and poetically how such systems and networks of data/information/knowledge that constitute and are constituted by metadata might be brought to light, questioned, and, perhaps most pressingly, how they might be disrupted." I'm not sure if this'll be wanky, interesting, or both, but it's probably worth a visit.

"Parasol unit is delighted to present the first solo exhibition in London devoted to the work of the Japanese artist Tabaimo." Again, might be worth a look. Closes 6 August, 2010.

One of about three exhibitions at the Whitechapel I reckon I should at least have a squint at. This closes 5 September, 2010.

"Long streams of clear plastic cards hang from the ceiling, engulfing the gallery visitors in a typographic mist. Each card features one single glyph from one of thirteen different Dalton Maag typefaces, with the font name above it and the Unicode number below." Looks interesting.

'Gagosian Gallery London will present "Crash," a major group exhibition opening on 11 February 2010, which takes its title from the famous novel by JG Ballard.'

I ran across Brian Griffin's work in, of all places, Reykjavík. Turns out he's just done a series of portraits of the workers on the St Pancras / CTRL project, and this is a talk on it.

Evening Standard: "A major exhibition is launched today to help decide the future of the historic Smithfield Market buildings prior to the opening of a planning inquiry next month." Includes a nice photo of the Poultry Market roof, amongst others.
