BBC press release for an Ordnance Survey competition. Except: "Ideas already submitted include a service that lets pedestrians map safe routes based on the location of CCTV cameras." "There are three broad themes for the GeoVation prize - crime, health and the environment, although entrants can come up with other ideas." Sigh.

"Acclaimed British artist Richard Long has designed the next Pocket Tube map cover for Art on the Underground" Bizarrely, there's nothing about the actual map redesign in this press release. Maybe this is a kind of large-scale A/B testing?

"We are pleased to respond to the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau’s inquiry dated July 31, 2009, requesting information regarding Apple’s App Store and its application approval process." The Mac pundits will be digesting this all weekend. Most interesting: why Google Voice wasn't approved, the admission of an explicit AT&T veto on VOIP (and an implicit one for TV), and the stats on App Store personnel and process.

Insane. British Airways plan to launch a twice-daily business-class only direct service from London City Airport to New York, using Airbus A318s. They must be pushing the edge of the range, and it's bound to be horribly expensive.

Is it just me or does this sound underwhelming? .Mac gallery export hardly sounds like that big of a deal. Unfortunately the product pages aren't updated so the "streamlined interface" is hard to judge.

I visited the Apple PR site on a whim, expecting nothing new since Christmas. Instead, it turns out they've just moved to the 45nm Xeons that Siracusa was waiting for. That changes his WWDC bingo a bit. New Xserve too.

They're not shipping a Universal Binary. Instead there are seperate PPC and Intel codebases (compiled with CW and Xcode respectively, if I'm reading the PR right). Hmmm.
