Developer Preview of Mac OS X Lion | Apple
The most interesting thing to me in this press release? "The Lion preview is available to Mac Developer Program members through the Mac App Store today."

Awards offered for map mash-ups | BBC News
BBC press release for an Ordnance Survey competition. Except: "Ideas already submitted include a service that lets pedestrians map safe routes based on the location of CCTV cameras." "There are three broad themes for the GeoVation prize - crime, health and the environment, although entrants can come up with other ideas." Sigh.

Pocket a work by Turner Prize winner Richard Long | TfL
"Acclaimed British artist Richard Long has designed the next Pocket Tube map cover for Art on the Underground" Bizarrely, there's nothing about the actual map redesign in this press release. Maybe this is a kind of large-scale A/B testing?

Apple Answers the FCC's Questions | Apple
"We are pleased to respond to the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau’s inquiry dated July 31, 2009, requesting information regarding Apple’s App Store and its application approval process." The Mac pundits will be digesting this all weekend. Most interesting: why Google Voice wasn't approved, the admission of an explicit AT&T veto on VOIP (and an implicit one for TV), and the stats on App Store personnel and process.

Snow Leopard Previewed For Developers | Apple
Link to the Mac OS X 10.6 press release, as it has all the information in the glossy page, but it won't vanish. Obviously nobody cares much, either, given all the iPhone noise (in the keynote, and the analysis).

New MacBook and MacBook Pro Models | Apple
Multitouch and some welcome speed and HD bumps (and the optional upgrades are much more reasonably priced- £30 for 250GB and £60 for 200GB @ 7200RPM for the base model) for the Pro are the main points.

London City to take a bite of the Big Apple | LCA PR
Insane. British Airways plan to launch a twice-daily business-class only direct service from London City Airport to New York, using Airbus A318s. They must be pushing the edge of the range, and it's bound to be horribly expensive.

Aperture 2 | Apple
Is it just me or does this sound underwhelming? .Mac gallery export hardly sounds like that big of a deal. Unfortunately the product pages aren't updated so the "streamlined interface" is hard to judge.

Apple Introduces New Mac Pro | Apple
I visited the Apple PR site on a whim, expecting nothing new since Christmas. Instead, it turns out they've just moved to the 45nm Xeons that Siracusa was waiting for. That changes his WWDC bingo a bit. New Xserve too.

Flickr Launches | News from Ludicorp
I can never remember when Flickr launched (turns out it was 2004), so I thought I'd save this. Sadly no screenshots; the site was very very different at first (and I hated it until I revisited it in July or so) - just check the subsequent news.

fabulous food for all | BAA Terminal 5
"Exclusive to Terminal 5 will be a breakfast menu" "Traditionalists can also plump for the more straightforward full English breakfast, or the US favourite of pancakes and maple syrup" Full English at Wagamama? That's just wrong.

Apple Launches iTunes Plus
"Higher Quality DRM-Free Tracks Now Available on the iTunes Store Worldwide" and Apple just make the "launch in May" deadline. Requires iTunes 7.2, it seems. Wonder why. EMI videos are DRM free too.

Propellerhead Announces Reason 3.0.5 For Intel-Mac
They're not shipping a Universal Binary. Instead there are seperate PPC and Intel codebases (compiled with CW and Xcode respectively, if I'm reading the PR right). Hmmm.
