Removing Ping from iTunes 10.0.1 | Tom Gidden
Remove Ping, and more usefully, reinstate the non-store arrow behaviour (for quickly filtering down to just an album). (I should probably stop using things like this, because they eventually vanish, but that's the sort of person I am.)

A good discussion on what Safe Sleep is, why you might not want it, how to disable it, and why Apple should have provided such a method themselves.

TimeDrawer for Mac
(Looks like a) Japanese application for revision control and managment with a spiffy overlay interface. It says it doesn't need an external drive (like Time Machine, which it's bound to be compared to), so where does it store files? Worth investigating.

DVD Spanner
Matt Sergeant's CamelBones app for burning a big folder to a selection of DVDs. Bound to be less painful than doing the same thing with iPhoto (although you don't get to keep the metadata, hm). Bit of a shame about the metal, though.

"Get more out of iTunes, AppleTV and the iPhone" with a plugin that lets you download stuff from YouTube, apparently. Interestingly, like iLike it's able to really customise the iTunes UI. Wonder how they're doing that and if it's supported.

MacDevCenter.com -- Replacing AppleScript with Ruby
Good article by Matt Neuberg, noting that OSA is still important but that Ruby's probably a better fit for scripting these days. Make sure you don't throw out the first item of type baby with the first item of water of container bath.

codepoetry - A Call for the Death of the Huge-Ass Application
Given laptop HDs show no sign of breaking 200G any time soon (hell, it's still impossible to buy more than 120G with a Mac laptop) this is a fair rant. Apple should really sort out compression for the web, too (iWeb spits out nearly a meg a page in PNGs).
