How Browsers Work: Behind the scenes of modern web browsers - HTML5 Rocks
This comprehensive primer on the internal operations of WebKit and Gecko is the result of much research done by Israeli developer Tali Garsiel. Over a few years, she reviewed all the published data about browser internals (see Resources) and spent a lot of time reading web browser source code.

Android Design - Welcome
Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) marks a major milestone for Android design. We touched nearly every pixel of the system as we expanded the new design approaches introduced in Honeycomb tablets to all types of mobile devices. Starting with the most basic elements, we introduced a new font, Roboto, designed for high-resolution displays. Other big changes include framework-level action bars on phones and support for new phones without physical buttons.

We focused the design work with three overarching goals for our core apps and the system at large.

jQTouch and Sencha Touch: Which is right for you? — 9-Bits by David Kaneda
jQTouch is powered by jQuery, a highly popular JavaScript library, and is geared toward web designers and novice web app developers. jQTouch progressively enhances HTML and CSS, so that less capable phones are still be able to browse content. The primary method of creating functionality in jQTouch is with HTML & CSS, or jQuery style event callbacks.

Sencha Touch, on the other hand, is geared more toward software developers, with a pure Javascript API for building powerful apps. It is powered by a custom core which is optimized for mobile, which inherently makes the core level in Sencha Touch lighter and better optimized than that in jQTouch. It offers a wide array more features and components and is better suited for mobile developers creating apps with advanced layouts, functionality, and interfaces.

SavageLook.com » A Deeper Look at Appcelerator and PhoneGap
I’d like to start by saying that I think it’s important that both of these frameworks exist.  The more I worked with each, the more I found that it wasn’t a simple question of which mobile framework was better.  Both have some of the features a cross platform framework should have, and each shines in areas that the other frankly does not.  And that will be the focus of this analysis.  What are the key aspects to a great cross platform mobile framework, and how do Appcelerator and PhoneGap stack up.

Akihabara
The Akihabara which you can download here is my personal dream too. It is a set of libraries, tools and presets to create pixelated indie-style 8/16-bit era games in Javascript that runs in your browser without any Flash plugin, making use of a small small small subset of the HTML5 features, that are actually available on many modern browsers.

I wrote this for fast game developing/prototyping, since Javascript is not only a funny scripting language but is also available quite anytime during the day, for some coding-on-lunch-break (my unique spare time).

Thoughts on Flash
Flash was created during the PC era – for PCs and mice. Flash is a successful business for Adobe, and we can understand why they want to push it beyond PCs. But the mobile era is about low power devices, touch interfaces and open web standards – all areas where Flash falls short.

The avalanche of media outlets offering their content for Apple’s mobile devices demonstrates that Flash is no longer necessary to watch video or consume any kind of web content. And the 200,000 apps on Apple’s App Store proves that Flash isn’t necessary for tens of thousands of developers to create graphically rich applications, including games.

New open standards created in the mobile era, such as HTML5, will win on mobile devices (and PCs too). Perhaps Adobe should focus more on creating great HTML5 tools for the future, and less on criticizing Apple for leaving the past behind.

HTML5 and The Future of the Web « Smashing Magazine
Some have embraced it, some have discarded it as too far in the future, and some have abandoned a misused friend in favor of an old flame in preparation. Whatever side of the debate you’re on, you’ve most likely heard all the blogging chatter surrounding the “new hotness” that is HTML5. It’s everywhere, it’s coming, and you want to know everything you can before it’s old news.

A List Apart: Articles: A Preview of HTML 5
Work on HTML 5 is rapidly progressing, yet it is still expected to continue for several years. Due to the requirement to produce test cases and achieve interoperable implementations, current estimates have work finishing in around ten to fifteen years. During this process, feedback from a wide range of people including, among others, web designers and developers, CMS and authoring tool vendors, and browser vendors is vital to ensure its success. Everyone is not only welcome, but actively encouraged to contribute feedback on HTML 5.

HTML 5 - A Quick Overview
There has been much noise about HTML 5, every developer seems to have an opinion. Some are positive and others are negative - Tommy Olsson, technical webmaster and software developer, is negative in an article: “I think it’s an abomination, but I’m probably in a small minority. It mocks everything I consider important on the Web”.

However, everything can´t stay the same at all time and Cashrevelations.com decided to make a simple overview of HTML 5, because sooner or later it will be here anyway. We hope this article gives you some insight into HTML 5.
