Ultimate Keychain Alternative | Keyport, Inc.
It's not often that we have an opportunity to review a fascinating new way to store and use keys -- plain old keys, that is, not encryption keys, electronic keys, CD keys, or Florida Keys -- so when we heard that the sanely-priced version of the Keyport was finally shipping after a three-year wait, we knew that we had to have a look. It's not too useful of a product for those of you that only have one or two locks that you need to worry about day in and day out, but anything more than that can quickly become a pain in the ass with a jangly keyring that you can't quietly take out of your pocket to save your life. Let's have a look at what this thing's all about, shall we?

TruPrint brings proper printer support to iOS if you brought the jailbreak (video) -- Engadget
AirPrint is great in theory, but in practice your chances of finding a supported printer in the copier room are roughly equivalent to spotting a yellow-eared parrot in the wild. TruPrint boosts those chances dramatically, adding iOS support for "most" printers that are shared on the network. Unfortunately no actual listing of supported models has been provided, but there's a three day free trial if installed over Cydia so you can try it for yourself -- yes, you'll need to jailbreak first. After that it's $9.99, which is a bit steep, but if it saves you having to wait in just one line at the airport terminal to print a boarding pass it's well, well worth it.

Windroplr Shares Files in Super-Simple Fashion from a Drop Button
Windows only: Find some files, drag them onto a button, click to copy the URL. That's how simple Windroplr makes file sharing, through its free Windows app, free online storage, and easy setup and sharing—just like Droplr on Mac.

Windroplr uses Twitter for its authentication, and requires .NET 4.0. Beyond those small hurdles, though, Windroplr runs really small and works in tight fashion. Click the system tray app to show a small square on your desktop. Drag one or more files onto the square—multiple files will automatically be ZIP compressed. Your Windroplr icon fills up in the tray, and when it's ready, a balloon pops up, which you can click to copy the very short URL for sharing.

Top 10 Web Collaboration Tools (That Aren't Google Wave)
Google Wave is shutting down and merging into other Google projects. Even if the app itself didn't gain traction, it made us think about the tools we use to collaborate. Here are some of the best non-Wave project and communication tools around.

We're reposting this morning to remind Wave users, and those wondering what the heck Wave was about, about other great collaboration tools available free on the web, and tacking on a relevant bonus item, too.

Clonezilla
You're probably familiar with the popular proprietary commercial package Norton Ghost®. The problem with these kind of software packages is that it takes a lot of time to massively clone systems to many computers. You've probably also heard of Symantec's solution to this problem, Symantec Ghost Corporate Edition® with multicasting. Well, now there is an OpenSource clone system (OCS) solution called Clonezilla with unicasting and multicasting!

Clonezilla, based on DRBL, Partclone and udpcast, allows you to do bare metal backup and recovery. Two types of Clonezilla are available, Clonezilla live and Clonezilla SE (server edition). Clonezilla live is suitable for single machine backup and restore. While Clonezilla SE is for massive deployment, it can clone many (40 plus!) computers simultaneously. Clonezilla saves and restores only used blocks in the harddisk. This increases the clone efficiency. At the NCHC's Classroom C, Clonezilla SE was used to clone 41 computers simultaneously. It t

GO Contact Sync Keeps Google and Outlook Contacts Matched
Keeps Google and Outlook Contacts Matched

Windows only: GO Contact Sync is a handy little synchronizer that keeps your Google (G) and Outlook (O) contacts in line. You run it once or schedule it, and customize how it handles your data.

But the tiny tray app also allows you to create different "sync profiles," where you can customize whether the sync goes just Google to Outlook, only Outlook to Google, and how it handles possible merges between your names and addresses. There's also a toggle box to recognize and re-create deletions.

OggSync - Sync Google Calendar and Contacts with Outlook and Windows Mobile Device Sync (including Microsoft Office)
OggSync stands for Outlook to multiple Google calendar sync. Also, the term Ogg originates from Ogging. Ogging is a multiplayer online strategy term used for a coordinated attack usually from multiple angles to eliminate a particular problem or threat. In the case of OggSync, the problem is disconnected and compartmentalized scheduling. There is only one of you, so why do you schedule your life on two (or more) calendars? Most people have a work calendar (Microsoft Outlook and Exchange) and a personal calendar (Google Calendar).

You may have other software that you use, if so, send an email to support@oggsync.com stating which package you use.

OggSync’s mission is to combine both lives into one manageable view! If you are looking at your Outlook calendar, you should see what you have scheduled personally and professionally, so that you can meet commitments in both sides of your life.

Nitro PDF Reader Provides Advanced PDF Tools for Free
Windows: Want to create PDF files from plain documents, annotate and fill in existing PDFs, extract images, and leave notes for any PDF reader? Nitro PDF Reader does all that, and it's a free download.

Offered by the same team that brought us the very cool, previously featured PDF-to-Word Converter web tool, Nitro PDF Reader does a good job of displaying and paging through PDF documents, even a few very large documents (200+ pages) I tried it out on. The real appeal over standard viewers, though, are the annotation and conversion tools. Nitro's tools handle Word-to-PDF and other document conversions very smoothly, in a way that doesn't leave many noticeable artifacts. Not all the features of the paid Nitro Pro are included, of course, but this release is a nice alternative offering for frequent PDF users looking to try something new.
