Ribbonfarm -- How to Name Things
february 2012 by adamcrowe
'Names are nothing; naming is everything. To name a thing is to truly know it. As Ursula Le Guin said, “for magic consists in this, the true naming of a thing.” It is in fact useful to think of naming an interrogative act that creates what it questions. Demand insistently enough to know the name, rank and number of a thing, and you will eventually find out. Even if your mind has to manufacture an answer. We name to liberate, and we name to imprison. We name to flatter, and we name to insult. We name to own, and we name to be owned. We name to subsume, and have subsumed. We name to frame, and we name to reframe. You name to create, destroy, fragment and churn. You name a product and launch it. You give a dog a bad name and hang it. To name is also to hide and cloak. To switch stories and manufacture realities. This is the world of Don Draper. He dons a mask, and drapes new realities over old ones. Starting with his own life.'

Wikipedia -- Thomas theorem
january 2012 by adamcrowe
'The definition of the situation is a fundamental concept in symbolic interactionism advanced by the American sociologist W. I. Thomas. It is a kind of collective agreement between people on the characteristics of a situation, and from there, how to appropriately react and fit into it. "If men define situations as real, they are real in their consequences.” In other words, the interpretation of a situation causes the action. This interpretation is not objective. Actions are affected by subjective perceptions of situations. Whether there even is an objectively correct interpretation is not important for the purposes of helping guide individuals' behavior. "The situations that men define as true, become true for them."'

The Archdruid Report -- The Blood of the Earth, or Pulp Nonfiction
january 2012 by adamcrowe
'I’ve talked more than once in these essays about the immense role that narratives play in our mental and social lives. In what we are pleased to call "primitive societies," a rich body of mythology and legend provides each person with a range of narratives that can be applied to any given situation and make sense of it. Learning the stories, and learning how to apply them to life’s events, is the core of a child’s education in these societies, and a learned person is very often distinguished, more than anything else, by the number of traditional stories he or she knows by heart. More technologically advanced societies often, though not invariably, move away from this, consigning their inheritance of stories to children—think, for example, of the role of fairy tales in nineteenth- and twentieth-century industrial societies—while narrowing down the range of stories adults are supposed to think with, until all that’s left are variations on one narrative. Serious thinking in these societies is by definition thinking that follows the accepted narrative.'

ScienceDaily -- We may be less happy, but our language isn't
january 2012 by adamcrowe
'"English, it turns out, is strongly biased toward being positive," said Peter Dodds, an applied mathematician at the University of Vermont. ..."a positivity bias is universal," both for very common words and less common ones and across sources as diverse as tweets, lyrics and British literature. Why is this? "It's not to say that everything is fine and happy," Dodds says. "It's just that language is social." In contrast to traditional economic theory, which suggests people are inherently and rationally selfish, a wave of new social science and neuroscience data shows something quite different: that we are a pro-social storytelling species. As language emerged and evolved over the last million years, positive words, it seems, have been more widely and deeply engrained into our communications than negative ones. "If you want to remain in a social contract with other people, you can't be a ...," well, Dodds here used a word that is rather too negative to be fit to print – which makes the point.'

The Daily Bell -- Zionism as an Elite Promotion or Fashion Statement?
november 2011 by adamcrowe
'The one-world conspiracy is succeeding to the degree that it is because it has found a way to marry Money Power to an ever-expanding one-world government. It intends to run the world like a private fiefdom in which a handful of people will be kings while everyone else will be either dead or zombified slaves. Just as importantly, we speculate there is likely NO operative religious element at the core of the one-world conspiracy, not even "Satanism" or "Illuminism." People who are worth tens of trillions of dollars and are directing history are not likely to be exceptionally religious in our view. They are more likely to USE various belief systems and to exploit them to achieve their goals. They are more likely to believe they ARE gods than to worship one. Putative belief structures can be useful, though. They can be used, for instance, in an intimidating way. Illuminati symbolism is increasingly used in this way, in our estimation. See, there is a REASON for Lady Gaga and the Supreme Court in Israel. A certain kind of "messaging" is taking place – and it's aimed at us!' -- Pied pipers are piping

The Archdruid Report -- A Lesson in Practical Magic
october 2011 by adamcrowe
'[Péladan's] core work of magical theory and practice, Comment on devient mage (How To Become A Mage, 1892), contains not a single magical ritual. Its theme, to borrow a typically ornate term from his writing, was ethopoeia – the making (poesis) of an ethos, one that would enable individuals to stand apart from the collective consciousness of their time in order to think their own thoughts and make their own choices. “Society,” Péladan wrote, “is an anonymous enterprise for living a life of secondhand emotions” – and the particular emotions on offer, as he discussed in some detail, are not picked at random. The collective consciousness of the age was primed for an explosion, partly by the thaumaturgy of any number of competing political and economic interests, and partly by the rising pressures of intolerable inner conflicts that, in magician states ruled by a managed consensus, was prevented from finding a less catastrophic form of expression. It took an extraordinary degree of mental independence to stay clear of the trance state and its appalling consequences, but that was one of the things the magical training available in those days was intended to do. ...the perennial mistake of Romanticism, the notion that all you have to do is fling aside the fetters of social expectations and do what comes naturally. The problem here is of course that “what comes naturally” to every one of us is the product of a lifetime spent absorbing social cues from the people around us and the media directed at us, all of which triggers a set of unthinking and unconscious reactions we share with our nonhuman relatives: social primate see, social primate do. “’Fear the example of another, think for yourself,’” wrote Péladan; “this precept of Pythagoras contains all of magic, which is nothing other than the power of selfhood.”'

The Monetary Future -- Why the State Demands Control of Money by Hans-Hermann Hoppe
october 2011 by adamcrowe
'On your territory, only you are permitted to produce money. But that is not sufficient. Because as long as money is a regular good that must be expensively produced, there is nothing in it for you except expenses. More importantly, then, you must use your monopoly position in order to lower the production cost and the quality of money as close as possible to zero. Instead of costly quality money such as gold or silver, you must see to it that worthless pieces of paper that can be produced at practically zero cost will become money. Because you can create paper money out of thin air, you can also create credit out of thin air. In fact, because you can create credit out of nothing (without any savings on your part), you can offer loans at cheaper rates than anyone else, even at an interest rate as low as zero (or even at a negative rate). With this ability, not only is your former dependency on banks and the banking industry eliminated; you can, moreover, make banks dependent on you, and you can forge a permanent alliance and complicity between banks and state. You don't even have to become involved in the business of investing the credit yourself. That task, and the risk involved in it, you can safely leave to commercial banks. What you, your central bank, need to do is only this: You create credit out of thin air and then loan this money, at below-market interest rates, to commercial banks. Instead of you paying interest to banks, banks now pay interest to you. And the banks in turn loan out your newly created easy credit to their business friends at somewhat higher but still submarket interest rates (to earn from the interest differential). In addition, to make the banks especially keen on working with you, you may permit the banks to create a certain amount of their own new credit (of checkbook money) in addition and on top of the credit that you have created (fractional-reserve banking).'

'If you want to influence the thinking of a nation, or even a community, you have to paint with a very broad brush. That means, first, you have to aim at one of a few powerful nonrational drives that affect most people in much the same way; second, you have to pile as much pressure as possible onto whatever drive you have in mind, so that you can overwhelm whatever the psyche of the individual might throw at you; and third, you have to weaken the reasoning mind, because that’s the part of the self that most often trips up efforts to work magic off basic drives, especially when those efforts aim at goals that most of the targets think are against their best interests. Political thaumaturgy ... relies on mass media, and relies on repetition and compelling verbal or visual patterns that sidestep the critical faculties of the reasoning mind. ...the political thaumaturge is always affected by his or her own magic. ...you can’t spend your time creating words and images that appeal to the nonrational mind without your own nonrational mind being influenced by them, and the more compelling your thaumaturgy is, the more surely you will be caught by your own spell. ...it’s par for the course for political thaumaturges to end up as true believers in their own propaganda...'

october 2011 by adamcrowe
'“The public is the greatest of sophists,” said Plato... ...in all fields, the world bribes its leaders to be their worst selves. ...there is a trick of making almost any audience applaud. The speaker does not need to think at all, for thinking is hard work, and every audience is glad to be relieved of it. No, it is necessary only to use frequently, in an unctuous voice, those catch-words of conventional morality — home, country and mother — and almost any audience will applaud. Those who have not been thinking, suddenly hear these phrases, and know that it is time to applaud. All those who have been living evil lives make the most noise, because they want to cover their trail by getting into the front rank of those applauding conventional morality. The few who are really thinking may sit silently disgusted, but they do not come next time, so then the whole audience applauds.'

The Archdruid Report -- Clarke's Fallacy
september 2011 by adamcrowe
'Philosophers and psychologists down the centuries have tried to bring our attention to two important but generally neglected facts: we know more than we realize, and we affect more than we realize. Look at the human organism from an evolutionary standpoint and this isn’t hard to understand. Our rational, conscious, symbol-using minds are recent and rather rickety structures built over the top of a superbly adapted mammalian nervous system. ...a great deal of what goes on in our lives depends not on our rational, linguistic, symbol-using minds, but on an intricate and richly communicative nonrational substructure inherited from our animal ancestors, most of which we never notice at all and much of which is highly resistant to any kind of conscious control. Today’s science treats the placebo effect as an obstacle to be gotten out of the way... The operative mage doesn’t want to get rid of the placebo effect. Quite the contrary, he or she wants to amplify it and use it...'

The Daily Bell -- [Dominant Social Theme: The best of us are superhuman.]
june 2011 by adamcrowe
'Hollywood is ravaging the back issues of Marvel and DC Comics to come up with even marginal characters that can be turned into movies. The attraction of these characters is that they reinforce the dominant social theme of modern Western justice, including the paraphernalia of its court system, adversarial construct and prison system. People are entirely intimidated by the West's current judicial system ...the most ingrained of all modern power-elite memes. People literally cannot conceive of how justice can be gained except by some omnipotent state. Turning people into superheroes to reinforce the status quo is perhaps an emergent elite tool in a larger arsenal. But the bigger issue is mind control generally. From movies to books to television, people are bombarded with dominant and sub dominant social themes. Most people still have a hard time thinking that the world could be organized in another way. War is Peace. Paper money is Gold. The State is Freedom.'

Television Tropes & Idioms -- Curse

'Words and Language have power, especially spoken from the heart. Doubly so if the heart is filled with bitter rage. Triply so if the person is dying. But even in ordinary circumstances, Be Careful What You Say [Be Careful What You Say: In olden times, ordinary people would be very careful what they said because words have power. ...someone or something will be listening, and may well decide to give you exactly what you wish for], or you may well cast a curse on a loved one. ...a curse may steadily descend through a family. ...curses are the very darkest of Black Magic. The effect of the curse on a character and story is that of a potent driving force. Getting rid of it can drive a character to do great and terrible things. Enduring one can add drama and complicate a hero's life. Resolving it is cause for a satisfying resolution. Curses can be cut short by: #Completing an Impossible Task. #Dying and coming back, usually as part of finding a loophole in the curse. #The Power Of Love.'

Network World -- Layer 8: Thought police? DARPA wants to know how stories influence human mind, actions
february 2011 by adamcrowe
'"Stories exert a powerful influence on human thoughts and behavior. They consolidate memory, shape emotions, cue heuristics and biases in judgment, influence in-group/out-group distinctions, and may affect the fundamental contents of personal identity. It comes as no surprise that these influences make stories highly relevant to vexing security challenges such as radicalization, violent social mobilization, insurgency and terrorism, and conflict prevention and resolution. Therefore, understanding the role stories play in a security context is a matter of great import and some urgency," DARPA stated. Freedomain Radio -- #264 Dealing with Passive Aggression: Part 2 [False-Self] (MP3)
january 2011 by adamcrowe
"The false-self can't deal with rationality, it can only deal with sadism or masochism. The false-self brutalizes the true-self. The false-self believes that everything is hypocritical because the false-self itself is hypocritical. Not because it is protecting the true-self, but because by the time we become adults, it thinks that it is virtuous. Because of its addiction to the false argument from morality, the false-self is incapable of seeing any kind of rational, emotional, or spiritual truth. So the false-self will always intimate to you that it knows the truth that you will not admit to yourself. The false-self is going to strongly – and in a cowardly manner – suggest that every one of your true-self passions is just a pose, is just a front, and that what is really going on is you're acting out emotional sickness in the form of moralizing philosophy. If you can get somebody to believe that their true-self is their false-self, then their false-self will likely win forever."

january 2011 by adamcrowe
'Multiplication (sex) and consumption (food) are at the seed-level the only choice, the only truth, while at the branches-level Faith and Gold may be the right choices, the highest values and the truth. But there is a time when all that will change—it is when fruits will start forming themselves. Above Gold is Love and Understanding—a force of Lovers so powerful, that when one falls in love with another, then there will never be anything that could match the power of their love. Only love can make one to Understand the truth. Above Faith is Wisdom—a force of the most subtle substance, the closest to the truth. One who seeks it, will find it, and by getting attached to it, will never feel hunger again. When these two forces—Love and Wisdom are united, then Fruits will start forming themselves, and so will the power of Man. But the forces that made the Lion and Eagle turn into hungry wild beasts are still there, waiting to swallow the Child—the New World, as soon as it is born.'

Wikipedia -- Projective identification
december 2010 by adamcrowe
'Projective identification ... designates a psychological process in which a person engages in the ego defense mechanism projection in such a way that their behavior towards the object of projection invokes in that person precisely the thoughts, feelings or behaviors projected. Projective identification differs from simple projection in that projective identification is a self-fulfilling prophecy, whereby a person, believing something false about another, relates to that other person in such a way that the other person alters their behavior to make the belief true. The second person is influenced by the projection and begins to behave as though he or she is in fact actually characterized by the projected thoughts or beliefs. This is a process that generally happens outside the awareness of both parties involved, though this has been debated.' -- Predations upon those of a guilty conscience. The Daily Bell -- Assange, Hero or Trickster?
december 2010 by adamcrowe
'Dominant Social Theme: This fascinating man, Julian Assange, has thought of everything. He is the proverbial "Trickster [hero] who serves as a transformer who creates order out of chaos." -- If Assange is authentic, he is using the Internet in a heroic fashion to make increasingly authoritarian, Western states less feasible; if he is not authentic, he is still accomplishing some good by making government bureaucracies nervous. But we must add that if Assange's persona and work are indeed a promotional ploy, then this is certainly one of the most important dominant social themes of the 21st century. Assange, were he providing an elaborate kind of disinformation, is smack in the middle of the Trickster narrative. We are like wide-eyed children gathered nightly about the flickering flames. We lean forward, straining to catch the utterances of our sages. The Trickster speaks and we listen. Trickster explains; we internalize. We yearn to believe in the magic of these mystical narratives.'

The Manic Phase: Ego Disintegration and Paranoia - The Emotional Life of Nations
december 2010 by adamcrowe
'Nations engage in manic economic and political projects to get a "dopamine rush" that counters the depression and guilt about their success. Political paranoia and slow ego disintegration are seen in conspiratorial group-fantasies, fears of femininity [countered by persecution of homosexuals], imaginary humiliations by other nations [countered by a search for external enemies as grandiosity fails and Poison Alerts and sacrificial group-fantasies proliferate] [and Purity Crusades multiply as anti-modern and anti-child (Bad Boy) movements]. These are countered in the economic sphere by manic overinvestment, risky ventures, excess money supply growth, soaring debt and stock market speculations, and in the political sphere by jingoistic nationalism, expansionist ventures, military buildups and belligerent, insulting foreign affair behavior. As in drug addiction, each dopamine rush leaves a dopamine hangover that requires an even larger manic activity to overcome the resulting depression.'

The Depressed Phase: The Dragon Mother and the Phallic Leader - The Emotional Life of Nations
december 2010 by adamcrowe
'That depressions are self-inflicted wounds and not just the results of "mysteriously wrongheaded monetary policies" is still not admitted by most economists. The task of controlling growth panic by depressions is given to central banks, which first flood the nation with low interest liquidity to encourage overinvestment, excess borrowing, inflation and stock market bubbles, and then, when the expansion becomes too sinful for the national psyche, reverse the monetary expansion by increasing interest rates and reducing liquidity ("Taking away the punch bowl when the party gets going.") Depressions come because really people become depressed, reducing their spending and investment, and feel hopeless. ...nations enter into depressions because they feel persecuted for their prosperity and individuation by what Jungians have termed the "Dragon Mother" – the needy, "devouring mother of infancy who cannot let her children go because she needs them for her own psychic survival."

The Psychogenic Theory of History - The Emotional Life of Nations
december 2010 by adamcrowe
'(3) Internal Sacrifice Solution: If the leader cannot find an external enemy with whom to engage in a sacrificial war, he often turns to an internal sacrifice, either a violent revolution or an economic downturn. As Treasury Secretary Andrew Mellon said in 1929 as the Federal Reserve pushed the world into the Great Depression, "It will purge the rottenness out of the system." Business cycles are driven by the manic and depressive cycles of group-fantasy, as manic defenses against growth panic are followed by depressive collapses into emotional despair and inaction. Depressions and recessions are thus not due to "the Invisible Hand" of economics but are motivated sacrifices that often kill more people than wars do, halting dangerous prosperity and social progress that seem to be getting "out of control." Periodic economic downturns are the antidotes administered by sacrificial priests for the disease of "greed." ..."greedy" childhood selves felt to be responsible for the trauma...'

november 2010 by adamcrowe
'A magician, mage, sorcerer, sorceress, wizard, warlock, witch, Enchanter or a person known under one of many other possible terms in fiction is someone who uses or practices magic that derives from supernatural or occult sources. Although occasional practitioners of sleight-of-hand appear in modern fantasy, they are usually simulating the magic that others perform—or sometimes concealing their actual magic. The appearance of wizards in fantasy art, and description in literature, is uniform to a great extent, from the appearance of Merlin in Arthurian and Arthurian-related texts to those of Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings and of Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter series. The association with age means that wizards, both men and women, are often depicted as old, white-haired, and (for men) with long white beards. It predates the fantasy genre, being derived from the traditional image of wizards, such as Merlin.'

The riots in France have kept her from honoring several commitments in Paris, and there were a good many articles on the subject (generally) last time we checked Google. But we could not find a single one on a topic we consider nearly as important—the G20 meetings in Korea in early November that may help determine the rest of the world's economic history in the 21st century. Sub dominant social theme: "Please read up on Lady Gaga because she's an interesting entertainer and economics and the G20 are boring subjects." From OUR point of view, the world is increasingly approaching a tipping point and people who wish the best for their families and also for their portfolios will want to watch what is unfolding in Korea. If the West and the IMF can pull it off, then true global governance moves one step closer—maybe a big step. If they do not, then a 100-year's worth of planning may begin to be in jeopardy. This is important, is it not?'

SeptemberClues.info -- The Central Role of the News Media on 9/11 (Video)
october 2010 by adamcrowe
'The News Media had a central role in pulling off the 9/11 psy-op. The operation involved airing on television a substitute, computer-generated version of reality. It has temporarily succeeded to sell to the world the preposterous tale of 19 young terrorists using hijacked airliners to attack the USA. This longstanding research has established the falseness of the images shown on LIVE TV on 9/11 – as well as all the subsequently released video material. The 9/11 hoax is definitively exposed by method revealed.' -- Woah! You may agree or disagree, can validate or invalidate – but one thing is certain: this is a MUST watch.

The Daily Bell -- Elite Between Rock and Hard Place
september 2010 by adamcrowe
'It is no coincidence that the power elite has set up a banking system with quasi-religious overtones. Central banking is a fundamental dominant social theme for the elite. The power to print money from nothing is the power to play God. But the elite never expected a generalized discussion about how the system worked. The idea was to baffle people with incomprehensible terminology while impressing them with the grandeur and magnificence of the money plants themselves – the great Romanesque temples that have been built throughout the Western world to honor money power. The whole idea, between the vocabulary and the architecture, was to make the edifice so impressive and incomprehensible that people would simply tune it out, believing it to be somehow "beyond them." But the Internet itself has thoroughly undermined this ploy. -- The elite is willing to tolerate the virtual breakdown of the system rather than to reveal what lies at its heart.'

The Daily Bell -- Who Needs Banks?
september 2010 by adamcrowe
'It is also noteworthy that much of the process of central banking has to do with divining the future (impossible of course). But this is an important part of the ritual. Only seers and prophets can foresee what the future holds, and central bankers especially are granted this gift by those around them. ...the functions of modern banking could be easily performed by individuals – and in Roman times finance was indeed a private affair. Mostly conducted by the wealthy, apparently, it involved promissory notes and other forms of guarantees that obviated the use of specie. In other words, the Roman system was a lot more sophisticated and liquid than it probably seems today. There is really no reason why Citicorp has hundreds of thousands of employees. Or why bank headquarters soar in gleaming splendor in city-centers throughout the West. None of it is probably necessary. It is, in fact, for show, a dramatic charade...'

LewRockwell -- It Is Official: The US Is a Police State by Paul Craig Roberts
september 2010 by adamcrowe
'“Violent extremism” is one of those undefined police state terms that will mean whatever the government wants it to mean. In this morning’s FBI’s foray into the homes of American citizens of conscience, it means antiwar activists, whose activities are equated with “the material support of terrorism,” just as conservatives equated Vietnam era anti-war protesters with giving material support to communism. Americans are the most gullible people who ever existed. They tend to support the government instead of the Constitution, and almost every Republican and conservative regards civil liberty as a coddling device that encourages criminals and terrorists. Americans are too gullible, too uneducated, and too jingoistic to remain a free people. As another Nazi leader Herman Goering said, “The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. Tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peace-makers for lack of patriotism and for exposing the country to danger."'

The Daily Bell -- Big Science Shrinks?
september 2010 by adamcrowe
'These are fairly astronomical costs (pardon the pun) and we question how long governments laboring under "austerity" will be willing or able to foot the bill. From our modest point of view, these projects are a kind of expensive propaganda. Their purpose may be scientific, but the end result is to impress on average people that scientific investigation in the modern era has simply become too expensive and complicated to pursue without multi-billion dollar government investments. It is the Western power elite that wants to project this concept. Western elites, for at least the past 100 years, have labored mightily to produce the effect that nothing in life can be accomplished individually or in small groups. It takes an EU or a US or a Chinese communist republic to produce truly worthwhile results. It is, in fact, a way of de-motivating entrepreneurs and reducing scientific animal spirits.'

'You cannot hope to understand the philosophy (Illuminism) of any branch of the "Mystery School" (Illuminati) without many years of study and a complete knowledge of their "symbolic" language. You must understand that like many other organizations they attract those who completely miss the boat... or are just too stupid to "get it". When an individual joins a branch of the "Brotherhood," by any name ... or any other fraternal order or secret society, no one ever sits down with them and explains the meaning of anything. An actual literal esoteric education would be too dangerous. It could result in a public expose'—something which the Illuminati must avoid at all cost. But to give those who might understand a shortcut... Illuminism is COMMUNISM. -- The organization of the "Order" is a pyramidal structure of "Degrees". The ultimate "secret" is the method of controlling large numbers of fools with the promise of a "secret" which they are led to believe will make them one of the "elect".'

The Daily Bell -- Big Science Goes Broke?
september 2010 by adamcrowe
'At its root, the power elite is a Shamanistic enterprise, weaving dizzying stories of fear and magic that are intended to bewitch the larger public. Linear thinkers are obviously more process-oriented than holistic thinkers and thus in our estimation more likely to accept the elite-dominated status quo, especially if they are receiving generous compensation. But holistic-thinking individuals tend to be story-tellers as well, or at least people who understand the process of artistic invention. Thus, in a sense, holistic thinkers, provided with the tools of the Internet, provide a challenge to the memes of the elite. These holistic thinkers, in basements, clad in their pajamas, have begun to undermine the fear-based promotions issued by the elite's multi-trillion-dollar entertainment/education/media complex. The rise of the Internet not surprisingly may parallel the demise, or at least the shrinkage, not only of Big Science but of Big Education.'

The Vigilant Citizen -- Kanye West's "Power": The Occult Meaning of its Symbols
september 2010 by adamcrowe
'Kanye stands at the border between Masonic knowledge and the decadence of the mundane life... he has been “chosen” to take part in an initiation process... Kanye needs to kill his old self and be ritualistically reborn. Once this is done, true power is within his grasp. ...this short-film, intended to be viewed by the general public (especially young people), describes the concept of power with overt Masonic symbolism and occult references. This causes the uninformed viewers to unconsciously associate those symbols with the concept of Power, while “those in the know” get the “insider’s wink” sent by this video. Power ultimately becomes another piece in the on-going process called the “Revelation of the Method,” where the true source of power gradually and subliminally reveals itself to the world and occult rituals take place right in front of the public’s eyes. september 2010 by adamcrowe
'...is a psychology non-fiction book on brainwashing and mind control, by Robert Jay Lifton. Lifton outlines the "Eight Criteria for Thought Reform": #Milieu Control #Mystical Manipulation #Demand for Purity #Confession #Sacred Science #Loading the Language: The group interprets or uses words and phrases in new ways so that often the outside world does not understand. This jargon consists of thought-terminating clichés, which serve to alter members' thought processes to conform to the group's way of thinking. #Doctrine over person #Dispensing of existence: The group has the prerogative to decide who has the right to exist and who does not. This is usually not literal but means that those in the outside world are not saved, unenlightened, unconscious and they must be converted to the group's ideology. If they do not join the group or are critical of the group, then they must be rejected by the members. Thus, the outside world loses all credibility.'

'The trick that’s been used in ancient civilizations was to convince the public that nothing was real at all, and once you convince them of that, you’ve dominated them because whatever you do to them doesn’t matter because NOTHING’S REAL and that’s the usual spiel of psychological warfare which is put out by certain individuals even today. ...a Mason forms things. They shape society and the control mechanisms over society are reformed... Going back to Aldous Huxley... Anything which would take away, as he said, the incredible loneliness and anxiety that everyone feels. This apartness and this is again going back to the Masonic Doctrine of ONENESS. We’re all oneness, they teach you. They themselves at the top don’t believe that they’re all one, they tell you down below that we’re all one, that way we act is like a school of fish ...they are in a sense one. That’s not what human beings are all about but they will have us all move in the same direction and it makes us easier to control.'

Wikipedia -- Shamanism
august 2010 by adamcrowe
'...the etymology of word Shaman meaning “one who knows”. Really, the shaman is a person who is an expert in keeping together the multiple codes through which this complex belief system appears, and has a comprehensive view on it in their mind with certainty of knowledge. The shaman uses (and the audience understands) multiple codes. The shaman knows the culture of his or her community well, and acts accordingly. Thus, their audience knows the used symbols and meanings—that is why shamanism can be efficient: people in the audience trust it. Other fieldworks use systems theory concepts and ecological considerations to understand the shaman's lore. Desana and Tucano Indians have developed a sophisticated symbolism and concepts of “energy” flowing between people and animals in cyclic paths. Gerardo Reichel-Dolmatoff relates these concepts to the changes how modern science (systems theory, ecology, some new approaches in anthropology and archeology) treats causality in a less linear way.'

What the control system has spent so much time doing is to hold us in a closed-mind, closed-vibrational state so that we cannot access that natural power we have, which is the true-self, to resist all this stuff that's being thrown at us. Because of this epoch change that's going on, we're now seeing a very clear forking in the road. Center for Media Literacy -- Babylon Revisited: How Violent Myths Resurface Today by Walter Wink
august 2010 by adamcrowe
'...how the myth of redemptive violence structures the standard comic or cartoon: An indestructible good guy is unalterably opposed to an irreformable and equally indestructible bad guy. Nothing can kill the good guy... Nothing finally destroys the bad guy or prevents his reappearance... Children identify with the good guy so that they can think of themselves as good. This enables them to project out onto the bad guy their own repressed anger, violence, rebelliousness or lust, and then vicariously enjoy their own evil by watching the bad guy initially prevail. (This segment of the show actually consumes all but the closing minutes, allowing ample time for indulging the shadow side of the self.) When the good guy finally wins, viewers are then able to reassert control over their own inner tendencies, repress them, and reestablish a sense of goodness. Salvation is guaranteed through identification with the hero ...[with whom] one's personal well-being is tied inextricably...'

The Daily Bell -- Hollywood's Failing Memes
july 2010 by adamcrowe
'When the dominant story-telling of a society becomes disconnected from its reality, then the sociopolitical narrative has lost its hold. When people cease to believe, or when the dominant social themes grow too ludicrous and are unbelievable of themselves, then the organizational "glue" of society begins to fail. What is the American narrative these days? It used to be one of individualism, entrepreneurship, family and community. The mythos was agrarian and frontier-oriented. But the elite succeeded in the 20th century, when it was most untrammeled, in swapping these verities for woman's liberation, big government militancy and welfarism, military and civil policing and anti-free-market activism. Now in the era of the Internet, with collapsing economies and an inability to manufacture believable dominant social themes, the elite has nowhere to turn. It is a victim of its own success. Hollywood's distress signals a larger one.'

The Daily Bell -- Afghan War Over, as Predicted?
july 2010 by adamcrowe
'...one can gain much understanding of current events by paying attention to Western power-elite rhetoric in all its varied manifestations. Anyone can perform the kind of analysis the Bell attempts to provide. Simply accept (a terrible and fearful thing to be sure) that there is a power elite – a group of extraordinarily wealthy and powerful families and individuals engaged in an intergenerational conspiracy to create world governance – and then begin to track the dominant social themes that they utilize to shove a hitherto-unsuspecting public in the desired direction. -- ...the Internet has ravaged elite memes. Suffice it to say that what is happening now is a kind of huge and unstoppable tidal wave, one that is sweeping all before its path. Cultures and belief-systems will be reconfigured before all this is over. We believe the elite may have finally recognized this – certainly we see rhetorical indications that it has. '...it is impossible for the power elite to muscle its fear-based promotions into success. Promotions by their nature are amorphous and suggestive. To attempt to create an atmosphere of credibility around a failed promotion through a declaratory procedure is foolishness. ...in order to maneuver the world in a certain direction, the elite needs to create dominant social themes. These are essentially frightening fictions intended to panic people into giving up wealth and power. There is no other way to direct people effectively except to make them feel self-directed. This is the only way a few thousand "elite" can control six billion. But many elite promotions are sputtering in the Internet era. The continuing effort to animate these carcasses tells us the elite's toolkit is bare. It has no answer to the Internet's corrosive truth-telling except to continue to maintain the fiction that its promotions are believable and actionable.'

'What is startling, when one takes a step back, is that the 20th and now the 21st century seem to provide a kind of fish bowl of misinformation within which most happily swim, never knowing any better. It is in fact the Internet that has allowed us to exit this vast fishbowl and to take a step back to see how thoroughly Western society has been diminished. There is, unfortunately, a pattern to it all. At every level of the West's descent into a kind of ineluctable ignorance one finds busy agents of the power elite, beavering away to insure that the decline continues. The impulse, almost always, is to impress upon the naïve, the trusting, the young and the old, the halt and the healthy, that a handful of authorities, peopled by a select few individuals, are equipped to take life-decisions for all. The power elite has left no stone unturned, no aspect of life untouched. Anywhere that one looks, the pattern is there if one wishes to see.'

'...ritual can have remarkable properties when it’s applied in the right way, for the right purposes. This is the secret of magic – the art and science of causing change in consciousness in accordance with will. If what you’re trying to do depends on the choices of conscious beings, magic works. -- To bring his vision of a triumphant Germany into reality, [Hitler] had to cause changes in the consciousness of the German people, on the one hand, and in the minds of the leaders of other European nations on the other, and the magical knowledge he got on the fringes of the Vienna occult scene proved more than adequate to that task. Once he went past those goals to pursue the fantasy of military conquest, though, he passed out of the range of effects that could be accomplished by changes in consciousness, and into a realm that depended on the hard material realities of oil, steel, and geography. Once he crossed that line he was doomed...' -- (Comment: JMG: "abiotic oil is a complete crock")

Fire comes out of the angel’s wings (after all, he is the “Light Bringer”) each time Gaga says “Alejandro.” At the end of the performance, Gaga is lifted up under the Fallen Angel as a blood-red liquid oozes out from the fountain underneath him. Report #TL07B: The Nature of Government
may 2010 by adamcrowe
'#"Government" Consists of Individual Human Beings. When people say "government is necessary to do X (whatever)," what they're really saying is: "people are necessary to do X." Unfortunately, for most people – including many freedom lovers – it seems impossible to grasp the above refutation because they are locked into the habit of thinking, talking, and writing about "government" as a volitional entity. They say "government does this and that" – as if "government" is some kind of living, breathing entity capable of performing actions – collectivist thinking. Sometimes it seems that when you say to these people, "Look at anything that "government" supposedly does, like running a school, and you'll find that all the work is being done by individual human beings," – individualist thinking – they can't hear you. They seem so brainwashed with the notion that "government does things," that their brains automatically shut out anything to the contrary.'

The Vigilant Citizen -- Mind Control Theories and Techniques used by Mass Media
may 2010 by adamcrowe
'In the past, when changes were imposed on populations, they would take to the streets, protest and even riot. The main reason for this clash was due to the fact that the change was clearly announced by the rulers and understood by the population. It was sudden and its effects could clearly be analyzed and evaluated. Today, when the elite needs a part of its agenda to be accepted by the public, it is done through desensitization. The agenda, which might go against the public best interests, is slowly, gradually and repetitively introduced to the world through movies (by involving it within the plot), music videos (who make it cool and sexy) or the news (who present it as a solution to today’s problems). After several years of exposing the masses to a particular agenda, the elite openly presents the concept the world and, due to mental programming, it is greeted with general indifference and is passively accepted. This technique originates from psychotherapy.'

Gisted -- 'Morality' is a form of a magick because without morality there's no self-attack, and if you can't get your slaves to self-attack for disobedience then the costs of human ownership and control are really high. The immoral, the amoral, and the evil all understand that if you can train people in 'virtue' when they're young, then you own them for life because people so desperately want to be good. It's all the 'moralists', the 'virtuous', and so-called 'good' people who say that morality doesn't work and who try to come up with every single possible exception to a virtuous rule in order to paralyze real virtue. But the evil people know morality *does* work because they've successfully indoctrinated children using the argument from morality (that obedience to the State is virtuous, that the State protects, that the State helps the poor, etc) and ensured that people can never escape from the noose of 'morality' or the invisible fence of slave-on-slave attack.

I’m saying her video is ABOUT mind control. This disturbing theme keeps reoccurring in pop music. Her works, like the works of many other pop stars, are part of a greater agenda. The OTO’s ability to transform America consisted in the linkage of this brazen lying with science and science fiction, molding media and medicine in their image and likeness and creating a new ‘Thelemic’ religion for the masses.” – Michael A. YouTube -- Chris Hedges: Empire of Illusion: The End of Literacy and the Triumph of Spectacle
march 2010 by adamcrowe
'Journalist Chris Hedges discusses his recent book Empire of Illusion: the End of Literacy and the Triumph of Spectacle. In it, he charts the dramatic rise of a post-literate society that craves fantasy, ecstasy, and illusion. Hedges argues we now live in two societies: one, the minority, functions in a print-based, literate world and can cope with complexity and can separate illusion from truth; the other, a growing majority, is retreating from a reality-based world into one of false certainty and magic where serious film and theater, as well as newspapers and books, are being pushed to the margins.' -- "Things become so grim that there's a retreat into self delusion." -- Excellent summary of progress already made along the road to serfdom, also an urgent warning of the rise of utopian christian fascism. It's a shame he calls for an equally utopian "militant" socialism to fight against it. Violence is violence is violence. Neither the left fist nor right fist can justify it.

Encyclopedia Dramatica -- Environmentalism
march 2010 by adamcrowe
'The 21st Century's answer to Socialism, Environmentalism is a disease deliberately inflicted on retards by The Man for the purpose of depopulating poor places. While the former emphasized adoring the false idol of The State, Environmentalism consists of adoring the false idol of Pagan Goddess Mother Nature... The most notable symptoms of environmentalism are unwarranted Self-Importance, a false sense of morality, disregard for human life, lack of reasoning ability... Environmentalists are actually incapable of contributing anything to any cause they claim to support. That's why they instead try to prevent others from contributing to society. For example, they like to prevent cures for diseases from being invented by protesting animal testing. Considering Environmentalism is a mind-altering disease (much like Zombism), it makes sense that those infected with it will try to propagate the infection and prevent the development of a cure, much like how AIDS attacks the immune system.'

The Vigilant Citizen -- The Transhumanist and Police State Agenda in Pop Music
february 2010 by adamcrowe
'Today’s pop music is filled with symbols and messages aimed to shape and mold today’s youth. Apart from the occult symbolism discussed in other articles, other parts of the elite’s agenda are communicated through music videos. Two of those parts are transhumanism and the introduction of a police state. f the news scares people into accepting measures diminishing their personal freedoms and ushering in a “new era”, the music business accomplishes the same job by making it seem sexy, cool and trendy. This angle is mainly aimed at the younger crowd, which is much more susceptible to “take in” the industry’s message. We’ll look at the way those agendas are part of the acts of Rihanna, Beyonce, Daddy Yankee and the Black Eyed Peas.'

Google Video -- The Global Brain - Peter Russell 1983
february 2010 by adamcrowe
Another Pied Piper piping: How dare you claim to own your body and mind in the coming 'new age of the world order' -- 'Based on the themes in the book The Global Brain, this moving audio-visual presentation explores the idea that the Earth is an integrated, self-regulating living organism and asks what function humanity might have for this planetary being. It suggests that we stand on the threshold of a major leap in evolution, as significant as the emergence of life itself, and the essence of this leap is inner spiritual evolution. Moreover, Peter Russell maintains that it is only through such a shift in consciousness that we will be able to manage successfully the global crisis now facing us. [Praised by educators and politicians, and used by many international corporations' -- (Now if this was about us all becoming 'free' and living in 'harmony' (equality, by the socialist utopian dogma), why would he hype those lot?) The Vigilant Citizen -- Lady Gaga, The Illuminati Puppet
january 2010 by adamcrowe
'The symbolism surrounding Lady Gaga is so blatant that one might wonder if it’s all a sick joke. Illuminati symbolism is becoming so clear that analyses like this one becomes a simple exercise of pointing out the obvious. Her whole persona (whether its an act or not) is a tribute to mind control, where being vacuous, incoherent and absent minded becomes a fashionable thing. While masses of young people imitate Gaga’s gestures, her act is part of a bigger system that incorporates many other stars with the same symbolism. She is creative and a gifted song writer. But at the end of the day, the “Lady Gaga” persona is a Fame Monster, doing everything required to be an international superstar, including incorporating in her act the symbolism of the elite, making her an Illuminati puppet.'

Pseudo-Occult Media -- Kittens Made GaGa With MK

'Hello Kitty exhibition celebrating it's 35 years of it's mainstream kitten programming directed at kids. Note the pink streaks in her hair (sex kitten suggestive), the Hello Kitty suggestively positioned (showing what the whole Hello Kitty Lolita conditioning is about) -- Embedded the banned kitten suggestive nude video she did for Calvin Klein, this whole conspiracy is largely about man's (the people at the top of the pyramid for the most part) "obsession" with control/power/manipulation, in particular over the female sex (rape/abuse is 100% about power and control, the people at the top are sociopaths thanks to generations of keeping the bloodline pure/inbreeding which in part is why this mind control is going on...)'

The Vigilant Citizen -- Kerli's Creepy Mind Control Video
january 2010 by adamcrowe
'"Alters and Triggers: Another way of examining this convoluted victimization of body and soul is by looking at it as a complex computer program: A file (alter) is created through trauma, repetition and reinforcement. In order to activate (trigger) the file, a specific access code or password (cue or command) is required. The victim/survivor is called a “slave” by the programmer/handler, who in turn is perceived as “master” or “god.” About 75% are female, since they possess a higher tolerance for pain and tend to dissociate easier than males. Subjects are used mainly for cover operations, prostitution and pornography; involvement in the entertainment industry is notable." -- Different artists are used to propagate the same symbolism to different crowds.' -- The Pied Pipers

'Compilation video of an assortment of images from occult Hollywood. Hollywood itself is based upon the wood of a Holly tree used for magical/ritualistic purposes and is said to have the ability to hypnotize, mezmorize an entrance viewers. This is an expose on the "stars" that are really from highly abusive backgrounds and multigenerational incestuous families later sold into slavery. Transcend Polarisation
december 2009 by adamcrowe
'The fall of the Tower of Babel is where the [2+2=5] first made their appearance.' -- 'When all the old control methods the [2+2=5] have used against the people no longer work and there are too many people that have woken up and will no longer do as they are told, that means that people will stop giving the [2+2=5] their energy and faith. When people stop giving the [2+2=5] their energy and direct their energy towards themselves and others, then it will be inevitable that the [2+2=5] will start losing everything, they will lose their money, they will lose their claims over all the land they have taken over the centuries and they wil lose their power over the people. The [2+2=5] doesn't have any power, they just have the power that their subjects give to them, when the people stop giving their energy and power to the [2+2=5], then that means that the [2+2=5] has no power. It's that simple. The [2+2=5] know their game is almost up, and they are going for broke.'

Mail Online -- As a woman is hypnotised into believing she's had surgery: Yes, the power of the mind CAN heal your body
may 2009 by adamcrowe
'But if the placebo is bizarre, the 'nocebo' effect, is downright sinister. Dubbed 'placebo's evil twin', the nocebo effect happens when negative expectations produce harmful, real-life effects. In one extraordinary example from the Seventies, an American patient was diagnosed with cancer and given just months to live. He duly died in the allotted time frame - but the autopsy revealed the doctors had made a mistake: there was no cancer. According to Clifton Meader, a doctor from Tennessee who has studied the nocebo effect: 'He didn't die from cancer, but from believing he was dying of cancer'. The nocebo effect explains the extraordinary power of occult or voodoo medicine. Witch doctors in the American Deep South and the Caribbean use voodoo 'magic' to put curses on people and convince them they will die. To the astonishment of medical science, they often do.'
