Freedomain Radio -- #1996 Sunday Show 18 Sep 2011 - Ideology and Religion (MP3)
"People who are in control of a particular ideology, and have people entrapped within that ideology, are very much into protecting their investments – and growing their investments. The dividends are enormous when you propagandize someone. You can't reason people into religion; you have to indoctrinate the children. The more irrational the doctrine, the more it is corrupt and undermines the minds of children. It has to attack the helpless. Ideology is an old sick lion: it can't hunt the healthy, it can only hunt the weak and the vulnerable, and that means children, always and forever. You let children discover religion on their own. You don't teach children conclusions; you teach them how to think, not what to think."

The Daily Bell -- Hey Teachers … Leave Them Kids Alone!
'Previously, children had all been taught together and there was no age distinction, with older children helping the younger ones. What is never addressed today is the reason for the reconfigured system: It had to do with military accommodations. The idea was that boys educated together from childhood, and sent into battle together as well, would result in far more cohesive units. Public education was basically a way of increasing the efficiency of the German war machine. Inevitably, this system spread to Britain and Europe and then to the United States. ...the system was further redefined in America and Russia as one that was intended to turn out obedient, regimented workers. Learning was a secondary to the goal of achieving submissive subjects who would willingly succumb to life-long mind control. Naturally, mainstream media would be there to pick up the slack and further the "education process" when the public school days of a subject were completed.'

How many fingers, Winston?: "My position that religiosity is fundamentally child abuse because it is the aggressive infliction of empty and bigoted conclusions upon the minds of children – and you do not have the right as a parent to inflict your bigotries and preferences and faith onto your children. You DON'T own their minds."

The Daily Bell -- The Mind Conspirators by Nelson Hultberg
'It begins in the school system. Instead of being objective forums for the transmission of the values of civilization to the young, our colleges and universities have now become fervent breeding grounds for this statist recruitment process, in which the better students get swept up in the "false ideal" of collectivism. It is a powerful futuristic vision that is subtly instilled into callow minds who lack the necessary sophistication to resist. Being young and prone to idealism, they perceive "political centralization and a one-world government" to be an ideal just as the students in Marx's day mistook his "dictatorship of the proletariat" as some sort of ideal. Thousands of highly intelligent students spring forth from this brainwash every year to enter the world and spread their newly learned convictions that capitalism and Western civilization are the "roots of all evil." They think they are working for an "ideal."' -- Alumnus illuminatus!

Wikipedia -- Thought Reform and the Psychology of Totalism: A Study of "Brainwashing"
'...is a psychology non-fiction book on brainwashing and mind control, by Robert Jay Lifton. Lifton outlines the "Eight Criteria for Thought Reform": #Milieu Control #Mystical Manipulation #Demand for Purity #Confession #Sacred Science #Loading the Language: The group interprets or uses words and phrases in new ways so that often the outside world does not understand. This jargon consists of thought-terminating clichés, which serve to alter members' thought processes to conform to the group's way of thinking. #Doctrine over person #Dispensing of existence: The group has the prerogative to decide who has the right to exist and who does not. This is usually not literal but means that those in the outside world are not saved, unenlightened, unconscious and they must be converted to the group's ideology. If they do not join the group or are critical of the group, then they must be rejected by the members. Thus, the outside world loses all credibility.'

America Via Erica -- Coxsackie-Athens Valedictorian Speech 2010
'I am graduating. I should look at this as a positive experience, especially being at the top of my class. I cannot say that I am any more intelligent than my peers. I can attest that I am only the best at doing what I am told and working the system. I am supposed to be proud that I have completed this period of indoctrination. I will leave in the fall to go on to the next phase expected of me, in order to receive a paper document that certifies that I am capable of work. But I contest that I am a human being, a thinker, an adventurer – not a worker. A worker is someone who is trapped within repetition – a slave of the system set up before him. But now, I have successfully shown that I was the best slave. I did what I was told to the extreme. -- I am now enlightened, but my mind still feels disabled. We are the new future and we are not going to let tradition stand. We will break down the walls of corruption to let a garden of knowledge grow throughout America.'

Adam Curtis Blog -- KABUL: CITY NUMBER ONE: PART 10
'Lots of westerners came out to Afghanistan to help the Afghans become a modern democracy. Here is an art expert who has come to teach them about Conceptual Art. It starts with a group of young Afghan artists watching film of an installation in a western gallery, then she shows them Marcel Duchamp's 1917 urinal. She is very keen to get them to say that if anyone did what Duchamp did in today's Afghanistan then they would be put in prison. It is interesting that the Afghans in the room, though they are polite, seem to disagree.'

Freedomain Radio -- #96 Concepts Part 2: Here is the Master (MP3)
Gisted -- Why would anyone overcomplicate philosophy with this brain-bending Platonic world of forms? The reason is to destroy independent thought and enslave people – it's that simple and that evil. Why has this enormous chain of philosophers worked so hard to create this impenetrable and incomprehensible nonsense? Well, they are in the service of the slaughter house of power we call politics. If concepts trump reality and have no relation to sense evidence, then concepts can never be judged or reasoned about. If concepts can never be subjected to any rational analysis or any sensual evidence, then they have unlimited power. And so if there's something called 'the State', and the State has "virtue", and the fact that the State has "virtue" is subject to no empirical verification or rational analysis whatsoever, then the State is fundamentally unlimited in its power. And that's why those who are evil love these philosophers and that's why these philosophers get the veneration they do.

Freedomain Radio -- #1184 The Truth as Psychotic Drug (MP3)
Gisted -- It's important to understand what occurs emotionally for people when you bring first principles into the conversation. You are unravelling their fantasy and so they go through a semi-psychotic episode. Their delusions are all of their relationships: with their family, with their church, with their government, with their friends – and with the truth, with virtue. And so we have to be gentle. Being injected with the drug called philosophy turns everyone around you into a monster who will attack you for questioning their bigotry with threats of punishment and withdrawals of affection – particularly so with children. And that is a terrifying existence. But the fundamental horror is, you look into the mirror and you see a monster: you see that you have taken as beauty your symmetry with other monsters, that you have taken as integrity your dissemination and infliction of vile moral lies on others. And that is something people don't want to experience.

Freedomain Radio -- #1654 Despair (MP3)
Gisted -- 'Morality' is a form of a magick because without morality there's no self-attack, and if you can't get your slaves to self-attack for disobedience then the costs of human ownership and control are really high. The immoral, the amoral, and the evil all understand that if you can train people in 'virtue' when they're young, then you own them for life because people so desperately want to be good. It's all the 'moralists', the 'virtuous', and so-called 'good' people who say that morality doesn't work and who try to come up with every single possible exception to a virtuous rule in order to paralyze real virtue. But the evil people know morality *does* work because they've successfully indoctrinated children using the argument from morality (that obedience to the State is virtuous, that the State protects, that the State helps the poor, etc) and ensured that people can never escape from the noose of 'morality' or the invisible fence of slave-on-slave attack.

Freedomain Radio -- 18. Health Care Part 1: Why the state is always drawn to controlling health care (MP3)
Gisted: Healthcare costs are never absolutely imminent. Healthcare is postponable in a way that food and shelter is not. Thus the failings of socialized healthcare can be easily obsfucated, leaving people at the complete mercy of the state when they are at their most vulnerable. -- 5 stages govts go through to grab power for themselves: #1. Offer protection to industrialists (subsidies) in return for votes. #2. Offer protection to teachers (subsidies) in return for support for government education. Teachers paid by the state can't educate children about the violence of state power, thus those children can't intellectually defend themselves later on as adults. #3. Debt. Monopolize control of the money supply. #4. War. Send the state-indoctrinated taxpayers off to war, paid for with debt backed by the future productivity of the taxpayers themselves. #5. Set up welfare state programmes to 'take care' of the wounded (healthcare), the widowed (pensions), and the orphaned (social services).

The Chronicle of Higher Education -- Is Graduate School a Cult?
BITE Model of cult controls: "#Behavior: major time commitment required for indoctrination sessions and group rituals; need to ask permission for major decisions; need to report thoughts, feelings, and activities to superiors. - #Information: access to non-cult sources of information minimized or discouraged (keep members so busy they don't have time to think) and extensive use of cult-generated information. - #Thought: need to internalize the group's doctrine as 'Truth' (us vs. them, inside vs. outside) and no critical questions about leader, doctrine, or policy seen as legitimate. - #Emotional: excessive use of guilt (identity guilt, social guilt, historical guilt); phobia indoctrination (irrational fears of ever leaving the group or questioning the leader's authority; cannot visualize a positive, fulfilled future without being in the group; shunning of leave takers; never a legitimate reason to leave; and from the group's perspective, people who leave are 'weak,' 'undisciplined.'"
