Using Git to manage a web site
march 2011 by _Fil_

DryDrop
february 2011 by _Fil_
DryDrop is an interesting little app: you use DryDrop and Github to create on GAE a site that will hosts a static web site that refreshs automatically when your Github repo is updated.
So basically, you use DryDrp to create a GAE web site.
Then host your git repo containing your static web site on Github.
Then link the two and your GAE will have a cached static site for free (as long as you stay in the free tier of GAE of course).
Quite nice.

Mercurial as überVCS
october 2010 by _Fil_
A very interesting article that describe how Mercurial (my DVCS of choice) can be configured into having some sort of subversion externals mechanism, where in the same repo, you can have sources pulled out from other hg repos (of course) but also from subversion or git.

A successful Git branching model
january 2010 by _Fil_
