Time-saving versus work-inducing software
june 2011 by Vaguery
"What is the underlying thread? Time-saving software tends to be produced by less civilized people. Software written by large corporations will probably be work-inducing."

[1003.4490] Experiments on a videotape atom chip: fragmentation and transport studies
march 2010 by Vaguery
"…In addition, we demonstrate a novel transport mechanism whereby we convey cold atoms confined in arrays of videotape magnetic micro-traps over distances as large as ~ 1 cm parallel to the chip surface. This conveying mechanism enables us to survey the surface of the chip and observe potential-roughness effects across different regions."

Business Natural Languages - Damp
may 2009 by Vaguery
"Based on my experience I believe that the DRY rule does not apply to Business Natural Languages. A major reason for using a Business Natural Language is to separate the business logic from the complexities of the under-lying system. When using a Business Natural Language, business users who are the most familiar with the domain can maintain the business logic. To a business user, a Business Natural Language should be no different than a group of phrases that describe the rules for running the business correctly."
