The Beautiful People series by Shehzil Malik — Lost At E Minor: For creative people
Shehzil Malik, The Beautiful People series by Shehzil Malik:
As an illustrator and graphic designer, I find that whether it’s through their art or music, there are some personalities that simply change the way you look at the world. In an attempt to pay homage to their talent, I’m working on a series of illustrations featuring the likes of David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, Andy Warhol and Salvador Dali. My work tries to capture the essence of their work, and at times imagines what they’d do in our current technology-savvy age. Warhol on Facebook? But, of course.

Marcel Winatschek, Odd Future - Wild Ones:

Das Kraftfuttermischwerk » Shlohmo – The Way U Do
Ronny, Shlohmo – The Way U Do:

Anna Delany | iGNANT
Caroline Kurze, Anna Delany:

Dividing her time between New Zealand and New York, Anna Delany experiences the world around her through a lens, documenting the subtleties of everyday life. Her exploration of gritty street life exposes insights into humanity; recording our stories and documenting the seconds of our lives. Her images capture both fleeting moments in time and the gradual dilapidation of urban decay. Each photograph has its own story to share.

Stream: SBTRKT, “Gamelena” « The FADER
Naomi Zeichner, Stream: SBTRKT, “Gamelena”:

SBTRKT shares a new result of some studio tinkering. He says “Gamelena,” where bass throbs mingle with staccato bird hiccups and noodle slurping noises, isn’t intended for any specific album or project. On the brief … read more »

FvF Mixtape #22 — Freunde von Freunden
antoniamaerzhaeuser, FvF Mixtape #22:

Everyone should have a friend like Schmitz – this sounds like one of this Jutebeutel-prints that have infiltrated cities all over the world, but it’s not – it’s actually a very sincere matter.
Schmitz, whose civil name is Jan Jasper Kosok, currently runs the small but mighty music and text blog knicken that managed to gather a loyal crowd of music lovers. He also follows a rather conventional job as an online editor at a likeable, rather leftist, German newspaper. However, this doesn’t keep him from being an ardent supporter of the football team Borussia Dortmund, a team he has back-boned since childhood. Apart from this permissible, exotic deviation, he is closely connected to his Kiez where he is greeted by overwhelming Mediterranean warmth from every store owner between Kottbusser Tor and Görlitzer Bahnhof.
As well, he has a real knack for good tunes and Haiku’s. But let’s leave it at that, before this text turns into an worshipping anthem. Enjoy the mixtape!

Breakbot – One Out Of Two / By Your Side » Too Many Sebastians
toomanysebastians, Breakbot – One Out Of Two / By Your Side:

We rarely post shaky-cam festival footage of forthcoming tracks, I know. But, our anticpation levels are quite high for the forthcoming Breakbot album so we are making an exception. His next single, “By Your Side” (once again featuring the vocals of Irfane) is due for release June 18th with remixes from Oliver & Dj Sneak. The thought of Oliver + Breakbot makes me very happy.

Did you notice a track called “By Your Side” at the end of that? It’s the name of his album… After a little bit of searching I managed to find a clip of it. It’s well… have a listen.

Excited.

GvsB II: MIXTAPE | GORILLA VS. BEAR
Chris, GvsB II: MIXTAPE:

As we mentioned yesterday, GvsB II goes down Saturday, July 28, at the esteemed Granada Theater here in Dallas. We are beyond psyched about this year’s show, which promises to be the party of the summer thanks to an incredible lineup, featuring Italians Do It Better labelmates Glass Candy + Chromatics, Twin Sister, Taken By Trees, Laurel Halo, and Dallas’ own A.Dd+. Here’s a mixtape we put together that barely scratches the surface of the bill’s collective greatness, but it should help you get acquainted. Check the tracklist after the jump, and if you’re into it, you can now purchase tickets for GvsB II right here:
